River Retreat Sigiriya

My room wasn't ready when I came, she excuse me by saying that power just came so I am preparing your room, Later I found out that the Power was never off, she was just too lazy to clean the room in Time for the guest to check in. Provided misinformation regarding long pants is mandatory to hike the Pidurangala Rock which is totally wrong.

Madu, the owner, was super nice and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. There was a mosquito net, a fan, a coat hanger. The garden is very beautiful, there are even some monkeys. The room is very close to all the restaurants and shops and a few minutes walk from Lion Rock. I recommend this accommodation!

Madhu is a gracious host and very welcoming. Clean environment and the host is very informative about the contexts. And it is located at a walkable distance from Sigiriya's ancient ruins.

Clean, quiet and simple rooms and a very lovely host. She is always there for you, speaks English perfectly, is never pushy and everything she recommends is just great! You must not miss her jeep safari to the national park. If you’re lucky and she is with you on safari you will find out fast that she is not only an animal lover but on top of that very knowledgeable on the topic of wildlife. So if you’re looking for a luxury room search elsewhere, if you’re into cool people and adventures this is your place.

This was one of the biggest room of my Sri Lankan trip. Room was really Clean, comfortable beds with mosquito netsand had big space. Bathroom is also bigger and clean with hot shower. If it's cloudy then probably you won't get hot water which is fine. Madhu the owner of this place is very helpful and wonderful lady. She told me what can i do and how can I go to the place in Srigiya and nearby town. All rooms are spacious and clean with air conditioning and pocket friendly. You can sit outside of your room in the veranda. There are enough chairs to sit but be careful of the monkeys. She has beautiful garden lots of flowers and some really old trees.

Don't recommend for anyone. No parking area. Smaller rooms. We booked the location from booking.com and they didn't prepaired the rooms. Not recommended. Booking.com images are fake
