Shan Inn Dambulla reviews
19This family owned guesthouse was great. We were welcomed and shown our room which was clean and had good AC. I had read comments about the noisy road but we didn't hear anything. Monkey's visited the trees in the garden and it was amazing to watch them close up. Simple breakfast and tea and coffee on request. Thank you for an amazing stay.
One of the jolliest couple you will have as a host. The rooms are economical. They plan to upgrade it in future.
Overall really enjoyed the stay. Best wishes to the hosts!
Couldn`t have asked for a better first few days in Sri Lanka. Dambulla Shan Inn is owned by a sweet loving family. Chathuri is so kind and so helpful. Months prior to landing in Sri Lanka, I was emailing her with all sorts of questions and she was very quick to reply each time. She helped us with setting up airport transfer to her place for a good price. She helped us with hiring a tuk tuk for the day, from a tuk tuk driver that she trusts. We ate breakfast and dinner there and both were very delicious. Both her and her husband are very kind, funny, and welcoming people.
On our last day we wanted to take an AC bus to Kandy. Chathuri called the bus driver and the bus driver called her when he was close by. Then she waited with us until the bus came. And the bus stopped right in front of the Inn. I am very thankful for her generosity. She made our stay very pleasant and easy.
I would highly recommend Shann Inn Dambulla.
The location is away from crowded areas but it is still on a main road with restaurants in walking distance.
The room and bathroom was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
Good place, really worth for the money. Kind helping people. Everything fine except the metres was uncomfortable for me
Nice and clean hotel with a beautiful garden. The guest house owner is such an amazing, outgoing and cheerful person - she tries to help you with everything.
Great place with very homely and friendly couple who own this place, lovely breakfast. All in all a lovely place.
Nice family, friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, good wifi and warm shower. Paid extra for the breakfast which was basic, probably wouldnt pay for it again, but we were in a rush so was fine to start the day with. Would definitely stay there again.
I'd highly recommend this place as a base to explore the main activities in the Cultural triangle area. It's well located in Dambulla (close to the cave rock temple) and the owners are a lovely family that can help you with both the recommendations what to in the area and arranging the activities. And they genuinely have your best interest in mind (we ended up skipping Sigiriya and climbed Pidurangala instead when we heard the entrance fee was $30 per person). They offer breakfast which is cooked freshly too. The rooms are decent - clean and functional which makes this place a perfect budget option to explore the area.
Very kind staf but the room and the bathroom was very small and the breakfast was very simple and not enough
Very friendly and helpful staff and good rooms. Within walking distance (maybe not of you're travelling with kids) to the Dambulla Cave Temple. Breakfast was good enough.
Lovely homely little place. Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was yum. Rooms clean and crisp. Great location for the Dambulla Cave temple and for buses elsewhere.
Stayed here for a day, as a group consisting two families during Xmas week 2018.
Very very gracious and friendly host. The property was run by a family. We were welcomed warmly, and showed to our rooms. Neat and clean rooms. Simple breakfast served in the morning.
The place is located very close to the Golden Temple at Dambula and also the Rock Temple.
Down to earth guesthouse with adequate facilities and is a short walk to local temples. For its price, the rooms are good value for money. Breakfast is solid. Caring and easy going manager with connections to local drivers (I recommend Saman).
The family who owns the place is very kind. Rooms are very clean and modern, definitely worth the price.
Located 5 min walk from the temple, and they arranged us transportation to Sigiriya.
A great human experience.
Mrs. Chathuri She is the asset of this property. Love, Caring, affection bonding.its like our own house. It is a guest house next to her house.
Excellent human.
Very nice room hosted by a young couple.
Shower was ok.
WiFi had a few break downs but we managed to fix it with the owners.
Breakfast was nice.
A very good priced homestay that is run by a very friendly and helpful couple (and their cute baby). Just as every hotel/guesthouse in Dambulla it is near the main road so there is always some sound which we didn't find a problem.
Very nice family running guesthouse near Dambulla road. Good location. Near to Dambulla museum and Cave Temple. Tasty breakfast and dinner.
Great and peaceful place to stay a night. Hosts are very friendly and takes a good care of the guests. They even found us tuk tuks and buses to help with the transport. Loving family, treats as a family as well.
