Sigiri Free View Tree House

To the jungle in a traditional treehouse!
Received a very friendly welcome with a nice fresh fruit drink. Excellent room with good bed and mosquito net (not an unnecessary luxury in the room with many openings).

On our second day we did a safari with the owner, which was great. Got a lot of information and saw even more elephants than hoped

My partner and I had an absolutely perfect stay. Many tree houses are very expensive but not this one and you have the best tree house experience. Waking up with the sound of birds enjoying the beautiful garden is something we would not wanted to miss. The owners are both incredibly friendly and helpful.

She’s the best cook you will find and she even gave a cooking lesson to my partner. He is a very passionated safari guide with his own jeep. His enthusiasm, knowledge and passion is inspiring and if you want to see elephants and learn about them you should book a safari with him.

The tree house is located at the end of the street making it a really quiet place and great to rest after the business of sigiriya.

We both recommend this place and we will for sure be back whenever we can.

Are we completely honest! We got there and it was very nice, we were warmly welcomed and very well served. Rohan was very easy to talk to and he told you a lot about the area. He wanted to help us with everything, be it when the bus was coming or whether we needed a TukTuk.
Up until then everything was fine. However, we went on a safari with him and this is where the shock began.
He told us it would cost 15,000 slr per jeep. We thought okay, since there were four of us (2 couples) it was a great price. However, he didn't keep this statement when we paid it was suddenly 15,000 slr per couple.
It went on. We couples parted ways. Some went to Arugam Bay and others to Kandy.
We wanted to take the bus to Arugam Bad and had to go to the bus station. Rohan wanted to organize a TukTuk. It was exorbitantly expensive. We compared the prices on Pick me and booked a taxi. Shockingly, the TukTuk driver suddenly knew about it and was lying in wait for us on the street. He blocked the road and threatened our taxi driver. He tried to recruit more TukTuk drivers to continue the stress. Luckily our taxi driver was able to move on before a worse situation arose. We were very happy when we were able to leave this place. It was no different for our friends.
They wanted to take a taxi to Kandy. Since we met a very good driver the day before, we called him. He wanted to come pick her up, but didn't come. This too was a scam. Because the driver called our friends and told them that he was being threatened by a TukTuk driver so he couldn't come to them.

It's amazing that Rohan seems very nice, but as long as you take his recommendations and don't do anything yourself, everything is fine.
Don't let the nice side fool you.

They don’t lie when they say he’s the best safari guide! We saw beautiful elephants in their natural habitats.
Rohan and his family were the sweetest, they greeted us with fresh passion fruit juice when we arrived to Sigiriya and were very cooperative and friendly!
We only had half a day in Sigriya and we managed to do so much!
The accommodation is lovely I would describe it as a tree house home stay that’s very warm and cozy.
Quick tip to get a mosquito repellent because you’ll be in the wild.

I highly recommend this place. The owners are a nice family with a little son - a footballer) A real place away from commerce in the middle of a tropical forest.delicious breakfast and very nice company of the owners.you can walk to bars and restaurants, but the owner can cook delicious food on site. I highly recommend.

Our stay at Sigiri Free View Tree House has been fantastic. We planned to stay only one night and we extended it one more day. Incredible dinner and breakfast, very dedicated family at any time and Rohan, the best elephant guide on the island. He is not just a safari driver, no, he is very knowledgeable about the elephants in the area and we learned a lot from him. We will return, we have been very happy with them. Thank you very much, with love!

The cabins are open, and there are lots of mosquitoes around.

Is 5 star the highest rating? We had a fantastic stay and miss the place already.
Rohan and the family were extraordinary hosts. During our 3-night stay we felt at home and well taken care of.

The tree houses are freshly built and beds were particularly comfy. The place was very clean.

Apart from freshly prepared breakfast in the morning, hosts offered to prepare a home-cooked dinner after our arrival. Definitely a highlight, wide selection of delicious Sri Lankan curry dishes.

We wanted to see the sunrise from Pirudungala rock and the host offered to take us there with a Jeep at 5am. The views were spectacular.
