Sigiri Peace Hostel

Beautiful hostel with one of the best hosts I've meet in Sri Lanka. Very good people. They cook a delicious breakfast and make you feel at home.

Humble place very clean, quiet and peaceful. The owners treat us very nicely. They took us to a very nice restaurant and recommend us what to do nearby. The breakfast was big and very tasty local food. Shalite and Shalike treat us like family.
Really recommend this place if you want to have a good experience with very nice local people.

I traveled Alone in Sri Lanka. I met Sharlika he is for me the perfect host. He was so nice and I visited a lot cities with him. He is a good driver too. He knows everybody in Sri Lanka. He is looking for always something an activities that you are sure you will enjoy. Thank you for everything. Sharlika is the best. If I come back in Sri Lanka I will chose him without hesitation. Also is hostel is like un juggle. You can sleep easily in peace without stress. I did meditation with him. And the breakfast it’s amazing you eat a lot good food!

I had an incredible experience at this hostel! Shalika, the owner, picked me up from the bus stop and drove me to the hostel. He went back into town while I got settled and brought some lunch back. He is absolutely incredible. The hostel is off the main road but Shalika is a local of the village so he knows everyone from the tuk tuk drivers to the tour guides. And it is right behind the beautiful temple and Buddha statue plus walking distance to Sigiriya Rock. The hostel used to be a monastery, which is pretty awesome! I only had one night and one morning in Sigiriya and he led me in the right direction. Aside from the delicious lunch and amazing breakfast full of traditional Sri Lankan dishes, I was offered tea and/or coffee throughout my stay. Yes, there can be mosquitos but the beds have nets for when you sleep and from my research, most of the places to stay in Sigiriya are very similar. There is Wifi and a ceiling fan which is more than enough. I got the full local experience hanging with Shalika and meeting his parents and his friends. He is an incredible host and everyone was so welcoming. I will definitely be back to stay again! Cheers machang!

Shalika is the best host i ve ever seen. His location is just perfect, in the middle of the jungle near a beautiful stupa and you can see so many stars.magic moment there. The three in the middle of the house is just so beautiful. I really recommand him and his guesthouse He can show you some secret places and give you so many advices! Very local! He knows everyone and everything about Sri Lanka! L Just perfect for people who want to be out of the everyday life.
