This small homestay is not just offering a bright view on lions rock, the hosts are also welcoming with open hearts, reading wishes from your lips and cooking delicious Sri Lankan food. There is also a nice chillout area to hear music and connect with other guests. Overall on of the best hostels on our whole trip.

Initially we’ve had a different stay booked which has been unexpectedly cancelled on the last minute so we had to look for a different option late at night. This is how we found the Nieel homestay which took us on the last minute and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The room was clean with fan, air-con and a private bathroom. Terrace was breathtaking with huge garden and view on Lion’s Rock. However, the family was the best part of it all. The most friendly, helpful and welcoming people. Helping us to get everywhere we needed and even helping us to find the right bus to Kandy. We would definitely come back and would recommend this place to everyone visiting Sigiriya.

This accommodation is disinfected daily. All current security methods are followed. So we were given maximum security at this place. The family is very kind. The father is a guide who knows the history of Ceylon well. The mother is a housewife. The food she prepares is very tasty. Their son is a young boy who knows a lot. HHe showed us a lot of beautiful places that not many people go to see. He has a company. He has a big project. His aim is to provide maximum service to the tourists visiting his village. Sometimes services are provided without payment. He is such a kind person. He spends part of his earnings on social services. He fed a few poor families with us. We also fed the street dogs. It made our hearts happy. Chandu, thank you for all that. You have a very big heart!

There are almost no words to describe this place. During the corona season, they helped me and my friends. Some people were afraid to detain us but they treated us like members of their family. Chandu, their son is an extremely friendly person. They followed all security measures. Everything is clean.

We stayed here for about a month and a half. They did not help us out of money. When we asked about payments, they told us, "We do not charge any money from the family. " We must help their kindness. Appreciate people who live by humanity beyond money whenever possible. If you read my review then definitely stay at this place for a day or two. They will warmly welcome you.

We stayed at Nieel homestay for 8 nights, the location is amazing, about 1 km from lion rock and 100m from restaurants shops, etc. The accommodation is really modern and clean, with nice hot showers and comfortable beds. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed waking up to birds and monkeys outside our door. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and HUGE. The family who runs the place are super lovely and they have the sweetest dog:)
Chandu (son of the family) helped a lot in making all our trips. Went to see the elephants with Chandu.it's great. We enjoyed the safari very much.
The hosts were so helpful and friendly. Sorted out transport for us when we wanted to go to Dambulla, and even to Kandy as we left. Great stay, thank you!

Leaving the bustle of negombo and arriving here was magic! The place is beautiful and its impossible not to be relaxed. The room was so nice, clean and cute. The host may be an actual angel. She helped us arrange safari, lent us bikes to get to lion rock, arranged a tuktuk for us to climb pidurangala at 5am, and also treated us so kindly with constant smiles and glasses of juice. I will absolutely stay here on my next visit to sigiriya.

We were treated like family, the gardens were beautiful, and our room had a view of sigiriya! Plus it's only a 30 minute walk to Pidurangala for sunrise!

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights. It has amazing views of Sigiriya Rock and better than the big hotels. A great homestay with personality and great service. The family who runs it are super nice, friendly accommodating and offer any trip service you’ll need while staying at the rock. Clean room with excellent AC and you can’t beat the price! Great breakfast as well! Thank you and I hope to come back soon!
