Be Cool Surf camp

Amazing people at an amazing beach! All were very friendly! After the surf lesson they gave us coconut drink which was amazing!

Shop is located at good spot on the beach. Chilled friendly guys are good teachers and have very useful advises how to improve your technique.

We surfed we Be Cool Surf camp 4 days and find them extremely unprofessional.
First of all, 3 times despite agreeing on start time at 7am, they arrived late so surfing did not start until 7: 45am.
On the last day of surfing with them, they did not give us change saying we would get it the following day. On the following day they never arrived and shop was closed. A person called Baba promised to arrive at 8: 30am and never has.
He also agreed to meet us the following day to give us money (taxi on our expense as it was a day when we were heading to airport) and also never arrived, neither responded to his phone (whatsapp).
I recommend any other shop but not Be Cool as they are definitely not cool…

Owner is a man with short legs but huge ego. He is very aggressive. Surf scool is a scam! Be careful, take a picture of surf before using. And use your phone camera if he starts to be aggressive with you.

It was my first time for surf class and it was great! Lot of fun and, thanks to Madu’s indications, I was able to stand up since the very beginning! Totally recommended! It is worth it

Our tour group spent couple of hours with Be Cool Surf Camp and we loved out experience. They were helpful and patient and by the end of our tutorial we all managed to stand on the board. I would happily book more lessons with them. Many thanks

Very nice surf camp with great staff! Over the week I was in Weligama, I took 3 lessons here and when I just wanted a beach day, I was always welcomed to make use of their beach beds and hang out with them. Recommended!

My friends rented some boards and he wanted me to explain how to place them after use, came with arrogant tone, seeking to fight, intimidating. I do not recommend going to that business for any of its services

Terrible aggressive, lying people running this business. You hire a board from them, show them any problems with board main man says it's ok then leaves premises.
When you come in after surfing staff say problem with board, you say was like that and boss knew. Boss comes back, remembers nothing of your conversation re problem when you hired board.
Can't state enough how aggressive he becomes. I was threatened, told none of us would be allowed on beach again.
Very very nasty experience.
Do yourself a favour DO NOT RENT FROM HERE.

Scammers and extorters. Gave us a board to hire with 2 fins then when returning it accused us of breaking said fin. Used intimidation, threats and followed us to get money out of us. I have since read other reviews of this company and it seems to be a regular thing. We ended up involving the police. Horrible, pathetic business which I imagine will be very quiet in the coming months.

Be Cool staff and the owner needs to learn how to be cool themselves. If you’re surfing at another school and see your friends from the hostel at theirs, don’t sit down to say hi even for a minute or they might try to charge you a crazy amount or even physically threaten you.

Surf with any other school, they’re all super chill expect for these guys. Definitely not cool.
