Evergreen Villa - Sinharaja

First of all the location is fantastic if you’re looking for an escape from traffic and chaos. Here it’s calm and you literally live in the rain forest.

Saman is also a great host and guide with eagle eyes. We were able to see so many different animals in the national park together with him. Highly recommend!

Cannot fault this in any way at all. 100% recommended. Saman is reputedly one of the best guides in the forest and we were certainly stunned by his ability to pick out wildlife and his detailed knowledge of it. His brother's wife is a very good cook. One of us arrived with an upset stomach and they helped us out with traditional remedies with great success. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Altogether a memorable stay

Central location next to the rainforest. An oasis of calm with a beautiful view over the river, a great for bird watching. Comfortable and spacious bedroom which has glass casing - you feel in the jungle. A good sized modern bathroom with hot water and good towels. Very clean all round. Saman and his family were fabulous hosts, warm and welcoming, cooking delicious dinners and breakfasts. Great value for money. A magical experience.

Great place with a great view from the terrace.air conditioning, wifi, breakfast, great staff.the place is located near the entrance to the rainforest, and this place also provides guide services.

I have booked this hotel 4 days before by calling them. And they confirm the reservation with me. But one day before they call me and say the room has already booked by others. So they need to cancel my reservation and just say I’m sorry. Only because no consequence for giving me up. I just want to say, sorry always useless. I try to understand, but I can’t. Such a dishonest hotel。

What an amazing rooms! So much light, space and comfy beds. The host is very very chill and kind, helps you out with anything and is an official national guide, so he will take you on the tour.
We extended the moment we saw the room. The view is perfect.
Every meal was one to look forward too. The rice and curry were a little different every time, so new tastes every time. We had them for lunch and dinner, twice.
We did a 3h tour in the forest and we really enjoyed it. We got plastic covers and lots of salt on our shoes to keep the leaches off. We had a great time:) one of the best places we stayed. Would have stayed longer if we could.

We had an amazing stay at Ever Green villa. The room and the bathroom are very clean and the mountain view from the room is just breathtaking. We took the 6 hours tour in the Sinaraja rainforest with Pradeep (the brother of the guesthouse owner) : he is very knowledgeable and with his help we saw plenty of lizards, snakes, insects, black squirrels which we would never be able to spot. Higly recommended!

We loved it here! We stayed in the family room for 2 night with our kids (4 & 5 y/o). The room is very nice It’s big, clean, comfortable and has a wonderful view. Saman and his family took great care of us. We did a kids-friendly tour with Saman and enjoyed his parents’ delicious cooking. Thank you!

Great place to stay. Situated in very close proximity to one of the entrances of Sinharaja. Calm place with a nice surrounding, facing Ginganga. Place is newly done, clean rooms with hot water and A/C. Hosted by a very warm welcoming family. Food was excellent in both quality and quantity and was also reasonably priced. Breakfast chosen was Sri Lankan, and had a delicious home cooked meal. They also arranged a tour guide (Ms. Inoka) for our forest visit. Who also did a very good job.
Over all a very positive experience.
Our only concern was the condition of the road heading to the forest. It may look scary at the first but you can easily access it up until the hotel

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Saman as our guide in the rainforest. He was very passionate and enthusiastic. He showed us various endemic species of birds, insects, plants and reptiles. We saw monkeys and beautiful waterfalls. Afterwards we enjoyed tea at his beautiful accommodation. Will definitely be staying there in the future when we return! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great place with calm and quiet environment. Breathtaking view of the Gin Ganga river from the window. It is just a 2 minute walk to the Sinharaja forest entrance.

The host is super friendly and the local food is awesome.

Stayed only two nights, its without doubt the best place I've stayed in a long time. Rooms are modern and clean with a large wall overlooking the mountain.its quiet, peaceful, beautiful, full of wildlife, no traffic, people.its nature at its best. I00% recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet in your life. I will be back as soon as possible. Salman cares for his guests and is very considerate.

I was staying in Galle and my hotel arranged for Saman to take me to Sinharaja Forest by tuk tuk and be my guide around the rainforest.

Saman was amazing! He was so friendly, knowledgable about the wildlife and very kind. I was travelling alone but by the end of the day he felt like a friend.

I had a curry lunch at the home stay restaurant, which was lovingly cooked by his father and the rooms looked very nice too!

I would highly recommend any tour with Saman and his team. They are lovely people with lots of knowledge of the local area.

Beautiful rooms with an amazing view! You can see the rainforests, king fishers, peacocks, and more from your bed.
We can also recommend the rice & curry. And we even more so recommend booking a rainforest tour with Saman, the owner. He is a very good guide, spotted many interesting animals and plants, and explained the forest to us. His English is excellent and he also knows some plants and animals in German and Russian. Be sure to pack your swim suit and/or enjoy the natural fish spa.
