Mango Tree Spa Beach Hotel reviews
18 We had a wonderful time here is UTMT Sri Lanka! Only good words.
We really enjoyed the Meditation classes with Mr Garvin which is an expert and know how to teach nicely with a perfect English.
Thanks you!
Paradise on Earth! Location ist traumhaft gelegen, die Ausstattung hochwertig und mit individueller Note. Alles sehr herzlich und nicht zu groß. Das Essen ist ebenso toll wie die Ayurveda-Behandlungen. Was will man mehr? ! A Place to be!
True paradise. No words can describe it. Breathtaking views, attention to every detail. Cozy spacious rooms. We enjoyed the spa treatments. Very decent food and presentation. However, the most positive point is the staff. Everybody is kind, polite and always smiling. The vibes are really good, never experienced such an amazing atmosphere anywhere else!
Beautiful hotel, offering the comfort of a 5star hotel, created with love for detail. A place you feel welcome and home far away from home.
I came to this place to practice an ayurveda pancharchama cure. The treatements are very professional. Dr. Dinali, has a solution for every pain and an open ear for any suffer.
The food is delicious. You are on a diät and feel like eating in a good restaurant. Enjoying food and eating healthy.
I am absolutely satisfied and will come back
Awesome and innovative hotel that shows the owners put their heart and soul in the design and concept. Great place to just relax and unwind or also do Ayurveda treatments. Great place for singles, couples and families. Private beach, great food, awesome rooms and most if all very friendly staff.
This is a wonderful place to relax and/or enjoy an Ayurvedic retreat. The staff are really friendly, the food is good, the accommodation is great. The beach area is very appealing. Daily yoga is also on offer. It's definitely worth a visit.
Incredible bliss! One of the BEST experiences I’ve had.from the staff to the Ayurvedic spa, and of course the chef and delicious food! Wow wow wow!
One of my personal worldwide top 10 hotels.
My second journey to Sri Lanka was now, March 2021, and I deliberately have chosen the UTMT as my second quarantine hotel. It was like three and half years ago: very pleasant, nice location, very good food, very good service and some amenities like a big, usable pool, afternoon tea and cakes/fruit, free phone calls, yoga lessons etc. The rooms are extremely interesting, with lots of detail, and with a small private pool. All together the premise is exceptional as are their prices; I could come more often but with these exorbitant prices. I have to think twice.what a pity
Superb hotel!
My wife and I visited here as their first customers right after they opened post CoViD-19 and we were pleasantly surprised.
The hotel looks great and has a very mellow atmosphere. The wood, stone and batik theme thought-out the hotel adds a very calming and classical mood. They have done a good job with the placement and color accents.
The staff is super, super nice. Starting from the hotel manager Mr Anura, front desk, ms Malki, restaurant manager, Mr Priyantha, Chef Dilan, and everyone working there were all extremely friendly and made our stay very pleasant.
When it comes to the room, we got room 5 and is the room with the best view of the beach. The room is very nice with an amazing design.
The food is set menu and not buffet but I don't think I would have had a meal this filling and this good if it were any different. The food tastes amazing and the food just kept coming with all the dishes catered so that they complement each other.
Overall I'm very happy with my choice of this hotel and I'm a bit sad that I didn't have enough time to experience all that the hotel had to offer.
Decided to make use of the long weekend and head down to UTMT. On arrival, we were run through all the sanitation procedures and shown around the hotel, thanks to Malki. We also spoke to the manager, Anura who informed us that we were the first guests since the lockdown AND the Sri Lankan guests at the hotel!
We got a great sea view room and there were so many locally sourced amenities provided. The rooms are colourfully decorated with lots of handloom and two outdoor showers. Having booked full board, we were treated to some delicious 4 course meals. They even arranged an outdoor, candlelit dinner facing the ocean view.
In the morning, we tucked in to what I considered the best Kiribath, lunu miris and chicken curry I've ever had! The hotel staff were all so accommodating and I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for some peace and quiet close to the sea.
Super schönes Hotel! Eine wortwörtliche Wohlfühloase für Geist und Körper. Super freundliches Personal. Waren schon zum 2.ten Mal hier und es ist immer wieder ein Genuss!
We booked the romantic candlelight dinner package. It was amazing. The service, the food, the location, everything was just perfect. We had an amazing evening!
Kanneliya-Dediyagala-Nakiyadeniya, or KDN, is a forest reserve in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Identified as one of the most floristically rich areas in South Asia; this forest region is the last remaining large rainforest in Sri Lanka, other than the Sinharaja Rainforest. The forest is situated 35km northwest of the City of Galle; and is a major catchment area for two of the most important rivers in southern Sri Lanka, Gin Ganga and Nilwala Ganga. Designated as a biosphere reserve in 2004 by UNESCO, the Kanneliya forest reserve home to many endemic plant and animal species.
Unprofessional. Hotel manager was rude - egotist and quite frankly an embarrassing first point of contact for what seemed like a lovely resort.
The woman as I’ll call her - “French / German” she said, as I tried to break the ice to pick her accent had dark curly hair and a frizzy attitude - she wondered why a paying customer would ask questions about the resort. Very odd, as we are obviously curious and expected to be welcomed. It’s low season and the resort was empty (she tried to convince us it was booked but online we knew there was a 42% discount and every room type was available) which made the ordeal even stranger.
We made our way down from the far more luxurious and expensive Aman Wella - where prices are $1000 a night. It is our last night and we were looking at nearby options to try, and were excited at the prospect of an ayurvedic spa treatment. Mind you a treatment is approx $50 for a “doctor” consult, hilarious when in the local village at an authentic ayurvedic spa you pay $75 for a whole day of treatments inclusive of food. So very bizarre. We asked to look at the treatments, and were even considering a drink but it was the coldest welcome you could imagine and so far removed from our bliss at The Aman. Maybe she was having a bad day but that one experience alone means I will not be coming back. Our experience in Sri Lanka so far has been nothing short of amazing. Which is why I am leaving this review.
Midway through the tense conversation, where I sat in chair that she pointed at only to redirect me to another - saying I wasn’t a “proper guest” I said thank you and that’d be all, and we left.
Hi I visit this restaurant I get very bad service really we are not enjoying very Bad service I never go to this place if you need please contact me my number
Very disappointed: I contacted the hotel to spend a few days where I only wanted to do yoga and relax. They sent me a really expensive quotation to which I replied saying it was totally out of my budget and that I didn't want any package etc.the person replied saying they are a boutique hotel and those were the prices. I followed with the rates given to my friend a few months before, they replied saying that my friend had the cheapest room and they were giving me one with pool, but I never asked! I didn't reply and they never contacted me back. And to be very frank their prices are a theft! Not worth paying all that money, you can find a hundred other places that don't try to take your money and the service is much better.
This place is perfect. The staff, the food, the cocktails, the beach, the grounds, just everything. It's feels so secluded and private. The hotel has a great genius loci, amazing view with one of the best sunsets I have ever seen. Great beach with stunning pink sand, lovely pool, beautiful rooms, it is a hidden gem in Sri Lanka.
It was a lovely relaxing resort. Good spa, the 60 min body massage was lovely but not 60 mins long.
One comment I would say is if you are visiting for a day spa like we did, eat breakfast beforehand as they tried to charge us 4,000 LKR for a small buffet. The lunch was far more reasonable and good food.
Also, we felt they didn't trust us as spa guests. Kept asking us to ensure we would give our towels back at the end, as if they thought we would pack them up and take them with us! The main guy in the restaurant could've been a bit more welcoming, his tone in his voice changed as soon as we didn't have a room number.
Nice place.
