Top of a proper steep hill, hard work if ya gotta walk it every day, sister hotel to the beach front paradise hotel which helps but the hill is murder, it has nice views from the restaurant, especially at sunset.

Breakfast was good
Didn't have lunch or dinner their, but did at the paradise, that was really nice, it was expensive, but very nice, good selection of dishes too.

The Palace would have gotten more stars had it not been for the hill, staff were great, place was clean and tidy, there were dancing peacocks in the garden

We loves the following about Palace:
- very attentive and friendly staff
- delicious breakfasts
- great sea view from bungalow 206
- nice interior design - very colourful ceiling and the furniture is so exquisite
- very well maintained property - the pool was always clean
- free entrance to paradise beach club which is amazing

What we did not like:
- huge cockroaches in the bathroom
- bungalow 206 has a beach view but at the same time you can see a brick wall on the right. It makes the beach view less attractive. You can maybe cover the wall with something or plant bamboo or some kind of trees
- you have to climb to get to the hotel which is fine for adults but can be difficult for elderly and kids

We got bedbugs from staying there. It's super gross, and we have a suspicion that the hotel was aware of the problem beforehand, as they told us at check in that we could only enter our room 3 hours later due to the previous person who stayed there being sick. It's super gross. Furthermore, there wasn't much cleaning done, even though we requested it. We also didn't get fresh towels, even though we asked for them. If you stay here, make sure to thoroughly check the bed and room beforehand to ensure you don't get bed bugs.

Fantastic location just 5 mins walk to the beach, staff couldn't do enough for you, food very good. Rooms just need a little make over for top marks.

Very loud at night, there is terrible music all night long. In addition, we had two huge cockroaches in the room, and one day there was even a small scorpion moving around the bed. We ordered transport to the airport, negotiated the price, but it turned out to be almost twice as expensive as 'downstairs' in the city. The staff just sucks as they want ;)

Our experience at Palace Mirissa was truly incredible, offering stunning views, exceptional cuisine, and a serene pool that provided a welcome escape from the heat of the day. Although some areas had partial obstructions to the views, the overall beauty of the surroundings was awe-inspiring.

The cooking staff at Palace Mirissa went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of delicious. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they catered to our needs and served mouthwatering meals that left us thoroughly satisfied.

One of the highlights of our stay was the abundant wildlife present at the hotel. From graceful peacocks and a Bengal monitor (iguana) to majestic eagles and kingfishers, the presence of these creatures added to the enchanting atmosphere. None of them posed any threat, and we found great joy in observing and appreciating their presence.

The views from the Bungalow with Sea View were nothing short of spectacular, making the extra expense well worth it. We spent several hours on the porch, reveling in the beauty of sunrises, indulging in a glass of wine, and engaging in pleasant conversations or simply enjoying a good book.

We would highly recommend taking a walk down the hill to visit Oh La La, a delightful spot that, despite being a bit pricey, proved to be worth every penny. The beach there was lovely and easily accessible, offering a pleasant setting for relaxation and exploration.

However, our only real complaint arose when it came time to settle the bill. Despite being assured that credit card payments were accepted, we encountered difficulties as their machine was not functioning. This resulted in a prolonged wait of nearly 30 minutes and forced us to pay in cash, which was inconvenient as it depleted our remaining funds. Given the cost of our stay, this issue left us somewhat annoyed and disappointed.

Overall, Palace Mirissa offers an unforgettable experience with breathtaking views, delectable cuisine, and abundant wildlife. While there were minor inconveniences and the payment issue was a letdown, the overall charm and beauty of the place made our stay truly memorable.

Excellent rooms and service done by the staff. The breakfast is definitely worth it. Would suggest to visit during season like December or January for best weather and water as well!

Very poor hotel

The most awful thing was the noise, be aware that you cannot sleep from 11: 00 pm-4: 00 am

No hot water for shower
No tooth brush
Breakfast is awful
Totally bad service

Spacious beach hut style accommodation set in lovely grounds where peacocks roam freely.

You can see the beach from the hotel, and it’s an easy downhill walk to reach. But be warned - it does take a fair bit of effort to climb back up, especially after a few Pina Colada’s!

I thought the accommodation was gorgeous; really spacious room, comfortable bed, and a good shower. Wifi works well in the rooms, and you have a lovely balcony to relax on.

Breakfast was great, and we also had dinner here one evening, which was also good.

My only negative comment would be the noise coming from (I believe) bars on the beach - which goes on until around 2 or 3am. Thankfully I was exhausted, so I just left the tv on for a while to drown out the music and I quickly fell asleep. Light sleepers might need earplugs.

Lovely bungalow rooms, in a nice setting. Room 206 has an ocean view. AC and wifi in rooms. There is a pool, and you have access to a bigger pool and beach access at "sister hotel" Paradise

We was here with our French clients and early November, there’s not much people when we are here, but hospitality was really really great. Food was amazing. Highly recommended.

We won't come back any more. They have the privilege of most amazing bay location. Honestly the vew is fine coz the entire Srilanka has incredible greenish. But the room facilities are really not recommend for stay. The first room was smelly, there was no hot water for shower, the souket was no electricity for phone charges, there was no duvet for sleeping only a bed sheet and has stains on the bed sheet. And there were a lot a ants to eat the dead insect on the door. We have to change the room in the night, but still not feeling good already. The squaral were screaming in the early morning, it's so annoying.

Rooms were nice and the staff were polite and friendly, restaurant was a little lackluster, better off eating at one of the restaurants on the beach.

Fantastic hotel on the hill in Marissa! The location is everything with this place, the views are amazing! 5 min walk to beach and restaurants, but far enough away to feel secluded. If you're feeling lazy, 300lkr tuc tuc back up the hill. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are basic, but more than serviceable. Really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't even bother looking at somewhere else next time I'm in Marissa.

Lovely, tranquil location. Rooms cool and comfortable with balconies overlooking the garden and pool. Steep climb up hill to the hotel - best to take a taxi! Was greeted with a lovely cold drink and the staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast not a big deal, but was adequate. Fresh fruit juice delicious. Would recommend to couples who want a quiet few days chilling by the pool.

Staff are friend and attentive. The cabanas are clean and well decorated. The beach is a 10 min walk. There's a bit of a hill to get to the place but its not too bad. I would stay again.
