Sinharaja Vini Villa

After we were not satisfied with the accommodation we had originally booked, we contacted Vini, who quickly organized transport for us to his guesthouse. It is somewhat remote right at the entrance to the rainforest. Vine and his family are warm hosts and fulfill every wish. The rooms are simple but clean and well maintained. The location right on the river is beautiful and perfect for relaxing!

The worst experience in Sri Lanka! If you like animals and go with children, never visit this place! Employees were throwing big stones to dogs before customers. Horrible.

Vini was a Great Guide for the Sinharaja rainforest and also a great host. His family is so friendly and his wife cooked fantastic food. We saw a lot of animals at day and night and really enjoyed it. You will like it too.

Excellent homestay with spacious rooms, clean linens and big bed. The location is set on the edge of Sinharaja Forest and just laying on the hammock gives you the opportunity to see a lot of birds, eagles and monkeys. You can also go on some hikes with Vini, he has very good knowledge about the area and an excellent eye spotting animals. Highly recommend this place!

Six of us were there from 29th to 31st December 2022 for two nights.
1. Place was clean and facing the river
2. Linens were clean
3. Food was delicious and served us ample foods and deserts.
4. It is situated in Lakagama itself and close to the both Sinharaja entrances of Lankagama and Denipitiya.
5. Road from Deniyaya to Neluwa via Lankagama was very good and can be travelled by a car also.

Great villa, clean and comfortable. Reasonable prices. Perfect locations close to a couple of entrances to Sinharaja reserve.

Vini’s family lived in this village for generations, so he knows off the beaten tracks in the forest. He has guided us through Sinharaja - 6 hour hike one day, and full day next day. Not an easy hike but very rewarding. Vini helped spot wild life hiding in the leaves. Bring pants and high socks to make sure that leeches don’t spoil your trip.

Also bring swimsuits to swim in one of many waterfalls - a perfect treat after a long hike. As well as excellent rice and curry back at the villa after the hike.

One of the best experienced in Sri Lanka. Amazing place to stay and relax for a mid-term stay. In the middle of the rainforest, next to the river, surrounded by nature. Long way to get there, but there is recompense. Vinni provides guide walks in the deep of the rainforest. The hospitality of the family is warm and beautiful.

I will recommend Vini's place to all my friends visiting Sri Lanka. It's simply the best place to explore the Sinharaja rainforest and meet many animal friends Vini and his family are wonderful people. They have created a very special place and I hope I get to come back one day.

The villa is sparkling clean, fast wifi, hot water, fan - everything for a comfortable room.plus amazing birds? And river you can watch from the hammock right outside. Vini can arrange everything including amazing food (cooked by his wife), a kitchen, lifts in his car and he is also an excellent guide. He taught us all about the local wildlife and I'm amazed how much we got to see! He also took us to a local carnival for my partners birthday?

Thank you to Vini, your family and your adorable puppy for going above and beyond I'm sure everyone who visits will have a beautiful time.

I had a great time because Vini and his Family were really kind and helpfull all the time. The meals were really huge und tasteful and also the rainforest tour was great. Very impressive how much animals Vini discovered

The best accomodation you can get if going to sinharaja. Right at the entry of the trekking routes and the food was very good. Really authentic sri lankan curries in a very good ambient! Not to mention the surroundings. By choosing vini villa not only you will get the best relaxing days one can have but also Vini as a guide is definetly the best. He knows where and how to look so he makes sure you don’t miss anything from the rainforest. Looking forward to be able to go back and grateful to choose his place. As a plus his kids are adorable. ️️

I would rather keep this place a secret from everyone so it remains as beautiful and magical as it is, but I love sharing experiences.

Located in the middle of the rainforest, a walking distance to the rainforest entrance. Vinni and his family are the loveliest most welcoming and generous family ever. The food is cooked by Vinni's wife and it is deliciiiiiious. Vinni himself is a great host and guide. He goes above and beyond to make you feel home and to experience everything possible.

Rooms are sparkle clean, the seating area in front of the lake is so relaxing, and the Wifi is super fast.

I highly recommend and won't ever let any Egyptian go to Sri Lanka and not stop there. Not acceptable️

Great place to spend your holidays in the border of sinharaja rainforest. Very clean. Great service. Friendly people. Nature trails. Hiking. Tasty food. I highly recommend this place. Vini Villa.

Friend of mine recommend this place, we visited with few of my friends. The staff including the owner is very friendly and gave us great service.kudos to that. Foods are very authentic and tasty, and served well and enough. Rooms and super clean and environment around the room also well organised and pretty neat. River view from the rooms is very chilling, unfortunately we couldn't enjoy it much due to heavy rain. I am truly recommend this place for anyone to go with friends family which ever trip. Also you can visit multiple water falls around the Sinharaja forest as well. Almost forgot to tell you all, prepare for leaches, specially if you travelling in a rainy season: D
