Weligama Bay Resort

We stayed 5 days in this establishment. We are delighted, excellent location, excellent service, excellent spa. We highly recommend this hotel.

Great beach for swimming and surfing, rooms and breakfast great, massage too. Restaurand ok but too expensive

We had a great experience staying here, from the guests relations lady, the welcome dance, the supervisor and reception manage to the pool attendant. Very tasty breakfast with attention to details and fast service. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who helps his team and general manager too. The kids play area was a bonus for us and the great live music in the lobby/bar area. Wonderful experience overall, highly recommended and definitely coming back. This is our 3rd visit in the hotel. The best Hotel In Sri Lanka. The team is professional and know how to give service. It is very clean and the facilities are great.
The manager Mr. Dinesh Karunarathne is open to hear any feedback and always there to ensure you will get the best experience.we definitely will return to this great hotel

Such a wonderful resort. The chef and hospitality manager went out their way to make our stay special. Whatever off menu food we requested they delivered. Reasonably priced, lovely pool. I have found in sri lanka that table service happens sort of once and then you have to flag someone down but you were always checked in on at appropriate times at this place, not over bearing. Lovely clean rooms wonderful decor comfy bed. Did not try the spa so cannot comment. Food prices were same in the area but big portions so could get away with sharing a main and 2 starters.

Definitely return again and happily pay more.

We had the best time at this hotel. We booked it for 4 nights very last minute for a beach break at the end of our Sri Lanka holiday.

I can only say we were blown away by the level of service from the lovely staff.

The chef and restaurant manager were exceptional and so lovely. They greeted us every day and made us off menu food as well. Every meal we had was delicious and pretty reasonably priced for the area.

One day we mentioned we were going whale watching the next morning and the chef went out of his way to make us a packed breakfast to our liking and left with security for us to take with us at 5am.

One day when I fancied a Sri Lankan breakfast they made me my own beautiful meal with so much food. I can’t stress how much they made our stay amazing.

I must say, this hotel has so much more charm than the Marriott next door and was everything we were looking for at the end of our trip.

The covid 19 impact and the economic instability in the country was quite visible in the resort, where it lacked routine maintenance. It was a great resort, I sincerely hope that it would get back into its usual high standards soon. The staff was great and the location was great as well. The rooms were spacious, the pool was ideal for a family with little kids. Overall a great resort with a great experience.

Rooms are super clean and interior was awesome. We were in 10th floor, the sea view is still remarkable. They are staff also very much concern about the customers. Food is perfect and delicious, lot of varieties which I didn’t see in other hotels. I really wanted to visit again. Can be recommended as super luxurious hotel in LK. Specially need to thanks Chef Isuru provide us a super friendly service. Awesome experience!

We like the hotel so much because it is like a little paradise with friendly and helpful staff, comfortable pool, romantic restaurant and the perfect sea for beginning surfers:)

The design of this small resort is really nice and probably the best one along the Weligama Beach.
However, the restaurant and bar service are very substandard and not at all adequate.
Many basic dishes like fish and chips, eggs benedict were served overcooked or totally burned, and the barman has no knowledge of basic cocktails. Draft beer was not served cold. Chocolate spread on crepes was the cheapest/unedible. Staff at the tables is not able to communicate/understand basic requests/menu orders in English.
We had to spend all of our dinners always outside the resort which is a real pity given the nice design and location of the restaurant.
The swimming pool was not very clean as you would expect and like.
The exhaust hood noise and smell from the adjacent Marriot Hotel kitchen was straight on our bungalow Garden Villa. Preferably choose another one when you book.
Our surfing experience was good and the location of the resort is ideal from that perspective.

The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous room, view and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service.

Best hotel in Weligama. We booked for 1 week and ended up extending for another week. We loved everything about this hotel. Awesome location right in front of the best surf spot in Weligama, great breakfast, nice and clean room and super nice staff. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the south of Sri Lanka.

We've stayed here once before, but our experience this time was even better. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. Great breakfast, lovely pool and perfect location. The rooms are great - spacious and comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to return, nor recommend others to come and stay in this wonderful place.

Great option to spend part of your quarantine. Loved the curry and breakfast and the staff were very friendly! We also took surf classes there with a cool.teavher and witnessed nice sunsets. WiFi in the room also works great and there is air con ;)

We spent our 13 night hotel quarantine stay here and we were overwhelmed by the hospitality and had the most relaxing, wonderful time with fantastic food, superb and friendly staff and great location. We stayed in a garden bungalow which was just perfect - spacious, comfortable, high ceilings, felt very at home. The staff were exceptional, the food very good, great pool, fantastic garden.

Due to a short vacation, we could not even take full advantage of the hotel. We have had only 7 days at WBR. Location hotel is perfect. Cuisine and wines more than to expect (food was fresh sometimes not easy to eat due to spiciness:) rooms (we stayed in Junior suite) are quite good. Staff was extremely helpful especially front desk manager Sahan – he did his best and even more to make our stay easy and comfortable (organized required by Qatar Airways PCR on departure test in time, helped in any other issues). Many thanx for him. Overall experience from vacation is more than excellent

Had an amazing stay at Weligama Bay Resort for our quarantine. The hotel is very clean, very comfortable, the restaurant, beach and pool are very good too. Above all, the staff were the best part; they were super friendly, very helpful and welcoming. Overall our experience was excellent!

We had to stay 14 day quarantine in our arrival to Sri Lanka and we chose this hotel because it's location next to the sea.
Even we where not allowed to go out of the hotel the stay was very easy and nice, It's in an amazing location and staff was extremely polite and caring.
We want to thank to Sugath and Viraj for taking care of us during meals, always with a smile on their face and super kind and polite.
Nilantha was very nice also! Towels where always ready in the hammocks when going to sunbathe!
Kasun always had our room super clean and Nishantha in the front desk always with a smile on his face and ready to help us whenever we need it!
Thank you to all of you for making our stay and quarantine so nice!

Villa - didn't check refrigerator, there was stuff from other guests, phone in room is not working
Food - very expensive and taste not good, for example be ready that fresh juice is mixed with sugar and water
Staff - if you are not 3 years old or didn't give enough tips - you are not deserve a smile and be ready to wait even if there are just two tables busy
Anyway, I want to thank manager Sahib and surf instructor Sahib - they are doing great, thank you guys!

Arrived with two families for an vacation. At the first glimpse they treat us in a very rude manner and security and staff have no discipline room service entered room without even knocking and frightened the hell out of us didn’t even apologize. Even tho they stat that this is hotel the service is worst than local kabana’s Never recommend for family!
