Camp Leopard - Yala Safari Glamping

We had a wonderful time at Leopard Camp. The rooms are super comfy - it’s the perfect mix between jungly vibes and nice cosy ambiance.
The staff are the kindest people we met in Sri Lanka, the food was unreal, and the safari was amazing (we saw 4 leopards!)
Will deffo come again overall 10/10, highly recommend you spend your time in Yala there!

Big thanks to Camp Leopard. The camp is gorgeous, they catered for my mum and I superbly. The camp is also located in a great place, literally bordering the national park. This created a very authentic camping vibe as if in the national park itself (although we were glamping with all the perks - clean toilets with hot water showers, comfy beds and a/c, sri lankan style catering with great service and more than adequate portions, undercover chill out area and tree covered hammock relax area too).

Then comes to the safari service. For my mum and I, our ranger and driver seriously made it for us. Regardless of weather conditions, they went the extra mile to make sure we had the best experience. Chathu and our driver were the best.

Chathu is incredibly knowledgable, bubbly and friendly. Having grown up loving the nature of her country (and scientifically qualified), she presented us with more than just ‘hey look there is a leopard’! She had extensive knowledge of all the wildlife in the park and loads of personal stories of encounters and genuine enthusiasm for the wildlife. She naturally could excite and interest us with the smaller and less noticeable animals especially the birds which I, for one, have never had much previous knowledge of. I will definitely be buying some binoculars when i get home!

On top of this our driver allowed us all the time we wanted with each encounter and used his experience to put us in the best place at any time to see what we all hoped we would when other drivers gave up and moved on…

What a combination!

There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing this experience was. Camp leopard is the perfect place to relax, immerse yourself in nature and enjoy Yala national park. The camp is beautiful and the service is impeccable. What stands out the most however are the safari drives - our guide Chathu was so knowledgeable and she made our trip. We spoke to so many other travellers who didn’t enjoy their safari experience as they just had a driver however we learnt so much and the staff kindly even laid out a bush breakfast & lunch, including a bush nap in hammock! 100% would recommend!

Had a wonderful experience our guide Marc was so knowledgeable. Took us to amazing place, they take you to the less busy section of the park. Laiiya the driver was on point. Not only did he have good driving skills he spotted animals too. Chathu also had lots of knowledge so friendly and inviting. Nicki was so polite and took good care of us. The whole team really looked after us, while we got to see some really beautiful wildlife. If you want safari I recommend camp leopard.

We want and decide to go Camp Leopard for their fantastic and amazing concepts. Specially for Safari jeep. My jeep driver made sure we had a chance to see the tiger and wild animals in their natural surroundings. Safari jeep that drive through Yala daily. Whole staff was so attentive and welcoming and just really lovely to surrounded by. I never forget sagari jeep journey.

The place is beautiful and the people are friendly. Although it is technically in the park, it is over a half hour drive from the entrance.

We had the best Yala Safari experience at Camp Leopard, can't recommend highly enough. Marc and his team were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable time, we couldn't have asked for more.

We had the most delicious Sri Lankan food and there was plenty of it. Also we had our first two safaris and I were able to see all the animals in our bucket list without harassing them at any moment. Marc is like a real encyclopedia of the surroundings and can tell you almost everything about the species you can find in Yala. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to run away from the urban atmosphere and learn about local animals. It was truly an amazing experience for us!

Nice place to take safari to Yala park. May be it's more expensive then in over places but with excellent accommodations and professional employees. Very romantic dinner under the starry sky. Special thanks for Mark and Elisabeth.

The camp was beautiful and cozy and sleeping in the tent was a great experience! I had al the luxury I could wish for though, bathroom and bed were comfortable.

Marc is amazing to deal with when looking to book a safari in Yala. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. I would recommend!

Perfect place to experience a safari tour in a nice, easy-going environment. The tent camp is nice and well organized, the staff is the nicest ever and the safari tour is organized always in small groups making the whole experience exactly what we were looking for. Totally recommended!
