I recently had the opportunity to visit Hela Bojun Food Stall, a local and traditional vegan Sri Lankan food stall, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. Here's my review of the place:
First and foremost, the food at Hela Bojun is truly outstanding. As a vegan, I was thrilled to find a food stall that offers authentic Sri Lankan cuisine with a vegan twist. The menu boasts a wide range of dishes, from traditional favorites like string hoppers, dosa, and vegetable curries to lesser-known delights like jackfruit curry and eggplant moju. Each dish was bursting with flavor, expertly spiced, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I appreciated the stall's commitment to using locally sourced produce, which added to the authenticity and freshness of the food.

Has a number of local cuisines. Delicious food. Reasonable price and polite customer service. Parking available.

Good place to get healthy local foods for low prices compared to other places in the vicinity. Only serve vegetarian foods. So not recommend for meat lovers. You can observe your foods been cooked. Clean environment. Friendly and supportive staff. Will have to communicate in local language.

This is another outlet in the Department of Agriculture's Hela Bojun Restaurant network. If you're going through Monaragala, this is a wonderful place to stop for a bite to eat.
But In the past, it was very clean but now it is very dilapidated. It would be very worthwhile if the attention of the responsible persons was paid more than this.
Has a wide range of culinary goods at a reasonable price, including string hoppers, milk rice, hoppers, and other items, as well as desserts.
They have Good parking area and it can hold up to 10 Bike or 5 cars.
Around 15-20 individuals can eat at the same time. It also has restrooms, which is a significant plus.

Good place to have a meal if you are going through the monaragala town. Maintained by the Department of Agroculture so food quality is good. Very reasonable prices. They have parking and toilet facilities

This is another outlet of the Hela Bojun Restaurant chain initiated by the Department of Agriculture. It is a good place to eat if you are passing Monaragala town. Has a variety of food items at a reasonable price, ranging from string hoppers, milk rice, hoppers etc.to sweets.

Around 15-20 people can dine in at once. It also has washroom facilities which is a definite plus. Parking area can accommodate upto3-5 vehicles depending on the vehicle dimensions.

Tasty and economical local food is available. Unfortunately, no washroom facilities available for long distance travellers. Cleanliness should be improved as there were so many flies around making it difficult for the customers to enjoy their food.

Right by the main road. Pure sri Lankan food very cheap price, clean and tasty.
Government directed project to help local community and promote Sri Lankan traditional food.

මොනරාගල ප්‍රදේශයේදී වඩාත්ම පිරිසිදු, ගුණාත්මක සහ රසවත් ආහාර ලබා ගත හැකි හොඳම ස්ථානය යි. මෙහිදී ආප්ප, පිට්ටු, තලප, හැලප, තෝස, කව්පි වඩේ, උඳු වඩේ, පැටිස්, ලැවරි, වන්ඩු, පැණි ආප්ප, කට්ලට්, පෑන් කේක්, කොළ කැඳ, බිම්මල් සුප්, පලතුරු යුෂ බීම, එළකිරි මෝරු ආදී ආහාර වර්ග රාශියක් මිළදී ගැනීමට හැක. පොලිතින් භාවිතය ඉතාම අවම ස්ථානයක් වන මෙහි කැන්ද කොල වල සහ සුදු පැහැ කඩදාසි වල ඔතා ආහාර පිටතට ගෙන ඒම⁣ට පාර්සල් සකස් කරදෙනු ලබයි. ආහාර ගැනීමට එම ස්ථානයේම මේස යොදා පහසුකම් සකස් කර ඇත. මොණරාගල නගරයට එන සංචාරකයින් සඳහා නිර්දේෂිත ස්ථානයකි.

It's a great innovation done by the Department of Agriculture to promote local healthy food and in helping rural women to earn income. Its provides local known food verities at a very reasonable price and made them openly at the restaurant.

You can buy sri lankan foods spending less money. Specially vegetarian foods available here, traditional sri lankan foods. සම්ප්‍රදායික ලාංකික කෑම බඩ පිරෙන්න කන්න යන්න හොඳම කැනක්, විශේෂයෙන් කුරහන් තලප ආනමක් එක්ක කන්න පුළුවන්. බිම්මල් සුප්, හොඳ ඉඳිආප්ප, පිට්ටු එහෙම නතුවමත් නෙවෙයි. මගේ නං හිත ගියේ තලප එකට තමයි, කාලෙකින් කෑව රස කෑමක්. පොඩි අයටත් කෑම නැතුවමත් නොවෙයි. අපේ කෑම කුඩා දරුවන්ට අඳුන් වල දෙන්නත් හදන විදිය පෙන්වන්නත් හොඳ තැනක්. තව දෙයක් මිලත් සාධාරණයි. රුපියල් තුන් සීයකින් දෙන්නෙකුට බඩ පිරෙන්න කන්න පුළුවන්.

Good place to eat a low priced yet nutritious meal. Gov run place. Hygiene can be improved but a outdoor seating selling novel village made items:) try 'wandu aappa' and 'halapa'️

Only vegetarian food available. Very cheap prices. Cooked and processed hygenically. Mant varieties available. Most of the food are typical Singhala food.

Best place to eat healthy organic indigenous quality food at very affordable price, dine in and take away available on site made food and snacks, well managed and supervised under government authority, local small resource personnel provide the service.

Superb concept, excellent place to eat old Sinhalese food, like kurakan thalapa, kurakan kada, pitu.etc, much better than expected. Looks very clean and hygiene, low prices and good friendly service. Limited parking available. I will definitely visit this place again.
