Nothing much to see except cows bulls & goats
It's not very pleasant
Best thing is, we can get dairy products here

They confirmed over the phone it is open around the week and can be visited in office hours in any day. But when we reached the gatehouse, the security officer informed it is not accessible for general public at all.

The fields were empty. All the animals were kept in sheds. Was disappointed not to see the scenic view of cows in the fields. Not worth the 250rs

You can't visit there. Some times you can see cows in the grass land and can buy dairy products from the outlet.

If you're visiting here during the holiday season, that's the worst thing you do. You should visit during the off-season. You can enjoy all products of Ambewela in their outlet while breathing the Peaceful and breezy wind of Nuwara Eliya.

Then we drank fresh milk, and all of them are cheap. Entry with milk per person does not exceed 7 riyals

The BEST stuff you get. LOVE the HOT MILK but UNFORTUNATELY we couldn't have it this time as You all hadn't enough staff to provide to a crowd. Just one person to do rverything!

WE DIDNT GET TO HAVE OUR FAVOURITE MILK OR THE FOOD YOU ALL HAVE.

JUST A SMALL SURGESTION, YOU ALL SHOULD HAVE EXTRA STAFF WHEN ITS A LONG HOLIDAY.

SO MANY WERE TURNED AWAY FOR THIS REASON.

Scenic views all around, can't explain in words. The road to the farm itself is full of a variety of ferns, trees and animals. You can also see cows of the ambewala farm grazing in the grass fields. Sometimes the whole area covers with sudden mist, giving a feeling as if you are in a different country.

It is a place where you can see the cows being milked as well as the animals being taken care of. It is also a place for field trips from school. There is a lot to learn and see here.

Located in the hill station known as Ambewela (also fondly called ‘Little New Zealand’) is the famous Ambewela Farm. About 17km away from Nuwara Eliya, the farm seems rather out of place compared to the rest of Sri Lanka.

Spanning 150 acres, Ambewela Farm is well-known across the island for its dairy products, even having its own line of products being sold all around the country at various markets. Here, the cows roam free, grazing on the green pastures of the farm, and the sky is almost always crystal blue. With wind turbines dotting the scenery in the distance, the peaceful farm is a great place to visit away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.

The farm was actually started with the help of the New Zealand government sometime in the ‘60s, and aside from producing milk, yoghurt, cream, and cheese, the farm is also a popular destination in Nuwara Eliya for foreigners and locals alike.

Useful Information

The climate of the region can get rather cool, with annual temperatures capable of dropping below 17°C, but usually, it’s not too cold, but the crisp breezes are sure to lull you into a state of utter relaxation.

The farm is usually open from 8.30 a.m. To 5.30 p.m. Every day, but it’s best to call and check if they’re open before you head on over there as they sometimes close down the farm for extended periods.

The entrance ticket is about Rs. 100 per person, and you can purchase the farm’s products at an onsite outlet, so make sure to help yourself to some Sri Lankan cheese and yoghurt!

The farm wasnt open for the visitors to see due to the current covid situation. But their outlets were open so we were able to buy their products.

Beautiful farm ambewela. These days close to situation of covid. The area is very very beautiful

Another best place to visit near Nuwareliya. This is very famous farm located on pattipola road.pttipola and nanuoya station are on near here. Adults need to pay 150 for a ticket. But it is valuable to see all the things happen on farm.
