We had wonderful time in this very beautiful colonial style residence. The staff is extremely helpful and efficient. They made us feel home. The scenery is also exceptional with view over the lake and the tea plantations We also made long walks to see the other bungalows that are all very beautiful. Pool and Jacuzzi is worth trying. Best hotel experience in Sri Lanka

Amazing stay, phenomenal service and culinary experiences to match. From start to finish no detail was overlooked and the level of serviced was truly superb. Our butler Nilantha, was amazing throughout the stay and really made our stay that much more special.
Would highly recommend t Cyelon Tea Trails and hope to one day return. Overall Beautiful bungalows, charming and relaxing views, with each bungalow having its unique charm, an array of curated activities to choose from makes this the perfect choice for anyone. Overall a truly luxurious and memorable experience.

A place remains in your heart for a very long time. It feels like we travelled back in time, when the world used to be.

We (two single girls) spent 3 nights and would definitely come back for more. Chamindra, Sanath and the lovely team looked after us like a family, the first welcome was “welcome home”.

The hotel/bungalow is set in the tea trails that you are completely immersed into nature. The setting, the landscape, the attention to details are second to none. We visited the tea factory and it is so fun and informative, had delicious tea tasting as well. If you love hiking, there are several routes you may choose from that lead you to the places where locals live, passing by schools, houses, a waterfall, etc.

The hotel is all-inclusive based, but in reality is it beyond a-la-carte. Each bungalow has only five rooms and there is a whole team looking after these five rooms only. Each day head chef comes to explain menu and dishes of the day and all your dietary requirements and preferences are met, more than you asked for. Laundry is included, they certainly don’t have to but it is such a wonderful touch!

People are so friendly, humble, hospitable, caring, they have so much knowledge and most of all, it is rare to see that everyone absolutely loves their jobs and you can feel they are proud of working there.

No more words, it is just splendid!

Had tea at castlereagh which I found to feel a little more “American” than Dunkeld which was more British cottage

Maybe it was the american music playing in the bungalow. It was nice!

Tea was served beside the garden which you could see the pool and play lawn croquet

Good hospitality. It is closer to the kayaking activity and close to the water

Amazing residence in the middle of mountain tea plantations. Extraordinary mountain view with lake and lots of flowers. The ideal place for a serene and relaxing vacation! The staff is very polite and the food is just amazing. Perfect place for escaping the Shri Lanka heat.

Amazing stay. Service was immaculate! Ajith, Priyantha and Danushka were great with their hospitality. Extremely professional as well. Chef was an artists! Food was lovely.

Would prefer if the reservation was done better. We had no idea about the 5 bungalows. A bit misleading and felt misinformed. Would have preferred to stay at Dunkeld bungalow.

Exceptional service and food, staff is really excellent. Location is nested in tea plantations, which has its pros but also cons. When booking we weren’t told of the terrible road conditions, we had a big SUV and it was a real struggle to arrive. Make sure to ask them to arrive at Summerville bungalow, and then use their boat to cross the lake, it’s much faster and more convenient. Activities in the area are limited, I wouldn’t recommend to spend more than a few days, unless you are really into secluded places and in need of extensive relaxation. Wine selection is OK, but I wouldn’t call it premium (they only have Cava as sparkling wine, and wines are from OK but not premium wine regions), given the cost I thought it was a bit of a let down.

Was one of the best experiences in our life, once you arrive they welcome you by saying" Welcome Home" and it really does feel like home. Food is beyond amazing, once you arrive the chef asks you about your preferred meals and service is fantastic. Would definitely go back there regularly!

Simply superb. Magical. Nestled between the magnificent tea plantation with a fabulous view of the lake and a superbly elegant colonial style Bungalow. Brilliant service by Janaka and sumptuous food.

Good place. No second word. But the road from main road to bungalow is very important. The expensive room rates, fine with service. But owners must pay attention to the road. They are looking money-saving and not to make road. Very disgusting. They should provide 4 well vehicle. Luxury cars will not fit for this bad road.

Nestled among tea gardens, Castlereagh bungalow is a lovely place. It exudes the old world British charm. Every room offers beautiful, scenic views. Great food, great wine! Service is stellar. Extremely personalized. Far from the madding crowd. Great place for a quiet getaway.

Our two night stay in Castlereagh and experience with Ceylon Tea Trails has been an absolute dream come true. To find out why this has been in the top 5 all inclusive worldwide destinations on TripAdvisor only takes a few moments; we were warmly greeted by our lodge manager and his extremely efficient yet relaxed team of chaps who have made travelling with two small children and absolute breeze. Our room was a 43wsonable size and as you would expect everything worked perfectly. What sets this stay apart are the details and level of service. Assistance with organising a tea trail tour or a simple snack is only a bell push away. While this lodge (of the five available) has four other rooms the evening chat with other guests over dinner on the verandah adds a friendly dynamic to what might feel like a very cosseted stay. Being able to choose mealtimes was a huge benefit to keeping toddlers fed and in bed in time to enjoy one of the included house cocktails in peace. The location is simply breathtaking and being amidst the heartland of Ceylon tea production is nirvana for any theanine fiend. This will likely be our only visit to Ceylon Tea Tours due to the once in a lifetime cost and nature of our trip but I will remember our couple of days here forever.

In Bungalow Tea Trails we all were filling like at home. Beside excellent location inside the nature, unique beautifull design of the house we were impressed by the cuisine and warm care of the whole staff. I am sure, we will return back to you. Thank you very much.

Outstanding unique collection of plantation bungalows spread around Castlereagh reservoir in the "up country tea trails". Accommodation was perfect, the food is some of the best I have ever eaten, personal butler to take care of your every need, amazing scenery. A very very special unique venue, truly in a class of it's own. Go there!
