Glenloch Tea Factory And Tea Center reviews
19Interesting tour and good tea tasting, but I was expecting a little more insights during the tour without me constantly asking.
We stayed at Glenloch for two wonderful nights. The staff was so helpful, kind and welcoming. What we enjoyed the most was the tour around the tea factory by a lovey lady by the name of Shiwa.
She explained the entire process in such a way that made it so interesting to listen to and we definitely learned some amazing tea facts along the tour.
Definitely recommend that you choose Glenloch on your stay!
Nice place to stay. We had a big room with the amazing view. All the people in the factory were super nice and helpful. We also went for the tour throught the tea factory, our guide Kamelis explained us a lot about the tea and answered all of our guestions. We enjoyed the time with her as same as all the stay at the factory housing.
Loved it. The woman who showed us around was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Absolutely worth a visit
Great tour. Got to walk around the entire production facility and hear all the facts. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight was getting to try some tea picking which was a good laugh!
This is a real operating and breathing tea factory. The tour was very educational, the guide was very patient and was happy to explain every little detail. The tea tasting was surprising, the tea there is very different than what I drink at home (for multiple reasons including my lack of understanding this field). First time that I had silver tea and I could taste the actuall difference. The prices of tea in the gift shop are reasonable.
This is we're the guide/ drivers bring you. You get a 5min factory tour and a free tee. Then of course you should buy tea. But they are not pushy which is good. Vut it's not the nicest tea factory or place to be. Better do another one and don't let driver choose this one
Tea factory and sales out let for tea. Restaurant serves food too. Pure Ceylon tea is sold. My experience tells to buy only pure tea not mixed with other items. Glenloch lies in the pioneering tea belt area,
Very touristic and commercial site. Nice to see the factory and labour do their work. Go from the factory outside into the plantation where old paths and tea bushes are very photo genic.
Had an opportunity to visit this place and this place is amazing specially for their several variety of quality "Ceylon Tea". You can taste different types of tea and they will also offer you to taste a cup of tea for free! Don't forget to buy tea while leaving this place. You will regret i swear!
We didn't have the best of times here: the factory tour feels rushed and the tea tasting average at best. The staff feels pressured to make sure the tourists but as many things as possible which leads to a real commercial-only feeling, which stands out against the usual very friendly people in Sri Lanka.
Very nice place to have a tea on the way yo Nuwara Eliya.
You can learn about tea plantation and tea process, in regards to the tea tour and just what happens to the leaf for different tea types and strengths. The staff is knowledgeable and very nice. They have many different tea and the taste of tea so fresh.
Also they have eloquent rooms for night stay.
We stopped here on our way to Nuwara Eliya.
The factory was fascinating but the tour wasn't. Felt like that the lady didn't want to do it but just had to do it anyway. She wrapped the entire tour in just 5 minutes. You can't learn everything in 5 minutes.
I read a few things about tea in the factory. Was intrigued then started looking online and didn't buy anything because I wasn't educated about it really.
But the tea samples were nice.
The food was good too. Overall a good halt.
One of the oldest tea factory in Sri Lanka. Tourists can visit the factory & can get 1st hand information about the process.
You can learn about tea plantation and tea process.also you can get tea tasting. The staff is knowledgeable and very nice. They have many different tea and the taste of tea so fresh
Very interesting in regards to the tea tour and just what happens to the leaf for different tea types and strengths. Lovely to taste in the shop and great teas to purchase
Very nice place to have a tea on the way yo Nuwara Eliya.

Glenloch Tea Factory & Tea Store situated between Kandy and Nuwara Elia is one of the different experience from Routine visit to Temples, Buddhist Shrines etc in the packed Tour of Srilanka. First impression is worth visiting for first hand exposure to the nuances of tea industry from picking of leaves to drying, segregating, processing a variety of tea (s), which are served for tasting and big sale counters to choose from famous Ceylone tea made by Genloch.
Factory sorroundings have awesome garden (had lot of photo shoots around).
Though a food joint is there but v have had tea and started our journey.
Quick tour, seen the entires process of tea processing, even had a walk in the tea plantation, thank you
