Grosvenor Hotel

A very atmospheric hotel, colonial aesthetics, a fireplace in the room (they will bring firewood and light it for 1500 rupees, the impressions are priceless). The staff is very nice, the breakfast is delicious, the room is clean. In general, feel like a British imperialist for 3,000 Russian rubles and kopecks and don’t forget to add hot milk to the tea that they will bring you for free (or vice versa, who knows, the sharks of imperialism).

A charming place one of the first three English bungalows that have remained intact at the origin, without too much renovation, takes you back to the atmosphere of the past with a certain warmth. Located in the central area to be reached on foot. Clean and warm with spacious and laid out rooms. A hotel to be recommended also thanks to the kind and smiling owner.

Magnificent hotel in historical building that is over 150 years old. We loved the way how our room looked and the whole hotel looked like museum. We enjoyed our 1 night stay. Personnel is extremely friendly! They provided us with electric heater, bundle of wood (extra charge) for fireplace and helped to book a tuk-tuk for Nanu-Oya railway station.
On the day we came it was rather cold and rainy weather but our night was warm thanks to the hotel facilities (heater, fireplace, hot water, blankets)
We really recommend this hotel especially for those people who would love to feel the past time atmosphere!

Our driver recommended this place and his recommendations were not always good, but this was an exception. The WiFi worked great, the free breakfast was good. Room was nice and large, stayed warm at night. The water pressure was good and plenty of hot water. The staff were great accommodating people. Would definitely stay again.

This is a lovely place to stay. Spacious rooms and bathrooms with colonial furniture. Located close to the town centre. Friendly staff and a good breakfast.

Actually one of the best quite place in nuwaraeliyee area.many more time i staied hera with my boss.there hospitality is very good, nice foods and beverages.

Die Zimmer sind sehr groß und komfortabel. Das Haus ist 150 Jahre alt und man kommt sich vor wie bei einer Zeitreise. Hinzu kommt der sehr schöne Aufenthaltsraum. Der Manager des Hotels ist sehr freundlich und das Essen war super! Können wir nur empfehlen!

Colonial concept hotel built by British. Big and very spacious room with amazing view.view sunrise from the bed itself.

We wouldn't decide to choose this hotel looking at opinions, but it was recommended by our driver and it was a very good choice. The building is very nice and well maintained, room and the hall was clean and staff kind. It is true, that it is a little bit cold in here, but overall it was a good experience.

The hotel rooms are big and spacious with no heating, a fireplace that will cost 1000 rupee extra for a few logs.

We ordered Baked mac n cheese, but got normal macaroni with white sauce, no cheese and it wasnt Baked. It had a lot of onion in it so it tasted very strong. Price for Mac n cheese was 900.

Hotel is located near Gregory Lake. It is constructed in British style.furniture, lights, everything is in British style. Complementry breakfast is very nice and huge in quantity.

Unlike most of the other Hotels we didn't have any issues at all with Grosvenor Hotel. They were rendering a truly professional service. Ample parking facility, 24x7 Hot Shower even during the PEAK Season is something which we don't receive from other hotels. Their Breakfast too is excellent and they keep changing the menu daily.

Nice house very unfriendly people.nobody smiles. Colonial building but i wd never ever go. Room very spacious but pathetically dark zero lights that emitted much. It was raining so cd not go out but can't read as well. Too dark they were too cheap to out decent lights. Bathroom oh boy. The curtain of bad quality improperly hung water fell all over. No body can use bathroom once one showered. What does this management think.looks they think tourists are desperate which looks it as most put good comments when they see a big room etc. At breakfast the fruit cut smell of onions when complained oh ok. Service was so so without smiles.we got plenty of smiles and services at Blue Haven guest house.i guess we were spoiled. At Grosvenor though not far from town i think over all needs help.i never go back. In bathroom one light like a jail cell tried to shade light oh such cheap management.i stay away. Reviews have been badly exaggerated so we went here. I am a world traveler found this place clean but dark badly run. Desperate folks go here.our experience only
