Hill Cottage

We had a great family vacation at this beautifully designed cottage at the heart of Nuwaraeliya town just two days ago. From the time we checked-in, everyone was so welcoming and nice. We had our 2 year old toddler with us and the staff always went above and beyond to prepare her meals just the way we wanted whenever we requested something done. Entire team including Frank, Ajith, Siva and Dilshan were very polite, attentive and great at their service. Food was really nice, rooms were so spacious, clean and beautifully designed in the British style and they have a beautifully maintained garden space with a breathtaking view. We will definitely visit you again. Thank you for the great hospitality once again. Cheers!

The location was excellent, easy stroll into town and close to Victoria Park.
The staff were very welcoming and all really friendly and helpful.
Our room was really spacious and a nice bathroom although, I did have to ask how to get the hot water going but they sorted it promptly and I got a really hot shower.
The hotel grounds were beautifully kept.
The only small negative was a group of 8 women staying in the same side of the building as us who were really noisy until after midnight, not the hotels fault but there isn't much sound proofing between the rooms to avoid disturbance from loud guests.

We could not enjoy the hotel garden because it was raining all day. However, our stay was very enjoyable and, if you are visiting the city, we recommend it.

The place is amazing and perfectly located. Rooms are vintage and cozy. The staff is extremely helpful and hospitable. Due to time constraints were able to spend only a night here, but loved our stay.

Located in the middle of Nuwaraeliya next to the Grand hotel. The staff is very friendly and the service was good. Walking distance to Victoria park and Gregory lake. The rooms were clean.

Highly recommend this place. Really nice rooms, very friendly and most importantly "helpful" and attentive staff. Reasonably priced too. Walking distance to the golf course, the Nuwara Eliya town, Victoria Park, Gregory lake.very central. One of the best places to stay in Nuwara Eliya without a doubt!

Stayed 2 days during the Christmas weekend, in the family room. Great Place and good staff. But, the staff shut off the hot water by 10 pm and imagine the inconvenience when 04 of us come after dinner (around 12pm) during the Christmas weekend. As an early riser, same issue again as hot water was not available till almost 9am next day. Thoroughly disappointed about how they handled it and was very inconvenient to the whole family.

One of the best places. Highly recommend. Food was good and staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice homey feeling place to stay.

Fantastic hotel, the team was incredibly kind and took care of us. We highly recommend every one to stay in this hotel.

Such a lovely and peaceful place, with very friendly and hospitable staff. My family and I had a fantastic time there. The location is excellent and making it easy to visit nearby attractions or go for a nice walk. They keep the place clean. The rooms are quite spacious and neatly arranged. The surrounding offer us the impression that we are in a part of the UK ️. They serve a good breakfast. Mr. Shiva deserves special mention for being extremely friendly and supportive. I would definitely recommend this Bunglow to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya.

My husband and myself came for our honeymoon. It was amazing.

The food was delicious. Decent selection of breakfast choices. It was complimentary.
Dinner we got off the menu. It was very tasty. Loved the choices.

Service/Staff
Person usually at the front desk and assisting with requirements is Siva. He is a kind and soft-spoken chap. Very helpful. Gave us the honeymoon garden view room. Took our trip to the next level.
Ajith is a great chef.

Room was brilliant. Very spacious. Good use of decor. Very clean. Nice sheets and curtains. Very pleasant. Not too cold either. Very pretty interior. Bathroom was good too. Water can be a bit warmer than you like but manageable.
Overall excellent.

Garden is exquisitely maintained.

Located in a beautiful place. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is really friendly and made us feel like home. Specially Frank, Titto and Ajith. Highly recommend. Would definitely come again

Fantastic location. Great staff. Good rooms. When I go to a place what I don't wanna hear is No and Can't. The staff at Hill Cottage at no point of our stay said either of those words. They were very attentive and helpful. We didn't have any prior booking but when we went in the morning they courteously allowed to check in early. They serve decent breakfast and most importantly the location is prime and very easy to visit places or even go for a nice walk. Special mention on Shiva who was very friendly and supportive

Wir waren nur eine Nacht im Hill Cottage, aber es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Alles sehr gepflegt, das Personal sehr freundlich und das Essen ist auch sehr lecker. Man kann zu Fuß zum Postamt schlendern und ein bisschen durch die Stadt bummeln.

Amazing place! Just drink the coffee in the garden in the morning and you will understand me!
Actually espresso is good, not as in other places!
Thanks to elegant waiters that create high aristocratic feeling.
Place is close to the busy center but you mostly don't hear the street sounds
