Magnificent, the place is truly beautiful. It's a long and difficult journey to get there but it's definitely worth it. The view of the valley, the pagoda, the waterfalls and the lake is exceptional. The path and stairs to get there are very clean and well maintained. It will be very difficult for a person with reduced mobility to get there but there are, I remember, porters ready to help. The view is magnificent early in the morning when the mist clears. The site is free.

Please note this is a fantastic activity not to be missed. But believe me, this does require some physical effort. You don't just do this. It requires endurance and perseverance. The climb takes between 3 and 4 hours. The last part is also the toughest. The summit is therefore a euphoric moment. You have to deal with stiff legs for 2 to 3 days. This activity is free.

Room was clean and the staff is friendly, however the shower had cold water, my towel had a dirty spot and the breakfast was burned, and one electricity spot wasn't working in the room. When I mentioned those things, the staff tried to make a solution which was good, I could charge my phone in another room, I got a new towel and they tried to give me warm water. Due to the rain the electricity went out more often. And indeed, there are a lot of high stairs to get to the room.

Is a landmark which is on the way to "
"Samanola Kanda", where the foot print of the most sacred Lord Buddha is believed to be situated.

When we are go to Sivanolipatha malai from Hatton route then it's a best way to take bypass from here to Ratnapura route. Otherwise in the sessional time got stuck in the Nallathanni Hatton route.it's around 1.5km from the top

Devotees who are worshipping Sripada for the very first time have to perform a ritual at this point to make a braid using a needle & a thread, hence the name Indikatupana. You can see white threads along the trail for a few hundred meters starting from this point.

A journey so tiring, the tranquillity one finds at the end is beyond any comprehensible joy or satisfaction.

This is a place we have to face when go through the journey to sri pada. People going there for the first time do something like knitting with the help of a needle & a thread. This is a tradition.

Idikatupana is a special place along the Sripada treck to the top (From Nallathanniya Entrence). First time travelers who called "Kodukara" in Sinhala, have some special rituals to do as bringing a needles and threads and keep it in Indikatupana. In the morning you can see nice view of the sun rising.
