La Rose Home Stay

As a summary, It's cozy ambiance, attentive staff, and a serene location. Guests appreciate the comfortable rooms and often describe their stay as one of the best in the budget category.

Had a very nice time here. The rooms are very clean, there is no heating but the thick blankets ensure that you do not get cold. On request, the hostess will prepare a (delicious) breakfast for you and dinner is also fantastic. She can also arrange a Tuktuk for you to Horton Plains, the station, etc. It is a bit further from the center, but you can get there in 10 minutes on foot via the shortcut. It is wonderfully quiet there!

Trust the other bad reviews, really. I write bad reviews very cautiously, because the last thing I want to do is badmouth a business that doesn't deserve being badmouthed. This place, however, deserves being badmouthed.

The woman who runs the place (with her son?) is VERY GREEDY.

1) She didn't want us to share the WiFi password with our Sri Lankan friends (for foreigners only?).

2) She tried to raise the price of the room by telling us we used too much (WiFi) bandwidth. Are you kidding me?

3) She took a LONG time to give me my change (when I paid in cash) and even when she gave me my change, she shorted me. The amount she shorted me was very low (50 rupees?) but money is money and there's simply no excuse for ripping people off like that.

4) She's too cheap to provide a roll of toilet paper (although the listing probably doesn't include TP so you can't really expect it).

I'm obviously not the only person who feels that this place is a ripoff. There are so many other 1-star reviews, for good reason.

I was in Sri Lanka for 3 months and this was BY FAR the worst experience I had there. Almost every other experience I had was fantastic.

This woman is bad, bad, bad, so STAY FAR AWAY, please.

(I expect she will respond to this review as she has to other bad reviews with some other lies to make us sound like we're the bad people here, but don't listen to that.)

Book any place but this one!

Great place if you need a place close to the town with a spectacular view of the town.
Place is located on a mountain cliff, ideal if you have your own transportation because you got to climb the mountain on a narrow stretch of road.

The rooms were tidy and clean, obviously we can’t expect a heating unit for this price tag, the blankets were cozy and thick so we didn’t feel cold during the night.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well maintained, the hot water wasn’t great but manageable. There is a small balcony as well where you could sip on a hot tea!

We also had a homemade lovely breakfast arranged by the owner and it was refreshing and delicious.

Conclusion: This place is great, especially if your looking to chill in a place a bit away from the busy town but also in the close proximity, and you get more than what you deserve for what you pay.

Best service. Comfortable rooms. Superb lady owner. Nice tea. Thank for your nice service unty. We enjoy view point at morning, evening and night. It's very beautiful to our eyes. We can recommend your place for others. We will come again.

One of the best hotels we have ever seen. A very nice lady and her son treated us very well. If anyone is looking for a hotel to stay in Nuwara Eliya, we recommend Las Rose. They also prepare very tasty food

We came for a two-day trip to Nuwara Eliya and booked the la rose homestay hotel. A hotel with very good hospitality located in a very beautiful environment. The food is also very tasty. We were charged very little for the two days we stayed. But well worth the money️

She had given the room to someone else when we reach to the place. They were not even friendly to discuss what they have done to us. It was around 7.30 pm when we reach to this place. We had to find another place at last moment in the night due to their irrespective behavior. Very disappointed. Not recommend this place.

The place was very clean and cozy. The rooms and the bathrooms were well maintained. There's a beautiful view of Nuwaraeliya from the Balcony for you to enjoy.

Aunty takes care of the place and she is very nice and friendly. She makes LaRose Homestay feels like home.

I chose these hotels. Because it is a very cheap place. But I received very high and high quality care here. This lady treated me and my children very kindly. It was very beautiful and clean. The food was very tasty and clean. I am very happy with this place. Thank you.

The rooms are nice and clean, but the host talks a lot about money and the price of things to the point of it being uncomfortable.

She argued with me about the price I paid on booking, saying it was too low. The homestay is quite far from the city, especially when walking under the rain.

You can stay like your own home with calm &quite environment surrounding rain forest.

Our stay at LA ROSE HOME STAY was an excellent ️. We stayed in here and the views from the Nuwaraeliya were splendid! Beyond the relaxing Environment of the here.the next best part was the fantastic food and excellent service at the LA ROSE HOME STAY. The menu has a great variety of food choices and the preparation made for superior tasting. The Host was very attentive, professional and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking facilities and security was really appreciated. Highly recommended for Local and foreigners. A wonderful mini-vacation!
