Our itinerary was not communicated by this company to our driver.
This was inconvenient and ended up costing us some money. Also our driver actually got paid less than 40 AUD per day and we paid SL Ride about $100 AUD. $60% admin fee is ripping off the local people. Drivers are incredibly easy to find when you get there you don’t need to pre organise but don’t spend any more than $60 per day that should include everything.

Absolutely good experience.
Follow your travel plan and give in-depth advice of the journey. Many culture and activity background is also given during the journey.
It really makes the travel a uniqie experience.

Me and my family decided to hire a driver for our 10 days trip in Sri Lanka. I have to say, it was the best decision we could have ever made. Having a driver is super comfortable - you do not need to constantly worry about finding the right road, which way to go, where the things you want to see are located, where is your accomodation etc. We were considering driving a car ourselves at first, but after seeing how crazy the drivers are in Sri Lanka, we knew we had made the right decision. We would not survive 5 mins on the road by ourselves.

Mr. Jayantha picked us up at the airport, during the 10 days he showed us all the things we wanted to see (Colombo - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Ella - Rekawa - Hikkaduwa) + he took us to places we didnt even know where there which turned up to be some of our favourites! He was super fun, always with a smile on his face, very reliable. We really couldnt wish for a better driver! He made our holidays even more special.

Had a nice experience with SLRide. Good service. Decent, knowledgeable and friendly driver. Showed us a few places on way, which we would have missed otherwise. I would say, its better to have clarity in entire T&Cs while booking vehicle. Its good for everyone. Especially the driver must also be informed and aware of the T&Cs. Overall good experience. I would recommend SLRide if you are travelling t Sri Lanka.

Mr. Damithra was very prompt in responding to my request on Email & Whatsapp. Thanks to him, we had excellent chauffeurs - Mr. Jude and Mr. Gamini, for our trip. They were safe, friendly, punctual, and very welcoming. I would highly recommend using SLRide to anyone wanting to book private cars for your transfers in Sri Lanka.

SLride was referred to me by friends who were quite happy with the service they recieved. I had already done my own research so by the time I contacted SLride, I already knew what I wanted to see and where I wanted to go.
I dealt with Damithra, who was always very prompt in replying to all my inquiries. He organised our transportation along with a very good driver (Gamini) and he assisted me in working out my 3 week itinerary. On finalising with them, an initial deposit is requested which is paid online, with the final balance to be settled on arrival in cash.
From start to finish my experience with SLride was smooth and hassle free and the result was the most amazing and unforgetable first time trip to Sri lanka.

We visited Sri Lanka on a week long tour in December 2019. Unfortunately, the tour operator we had hired was unable to provide satisfactory service (read dilapidated vehicle and truck driver posing as tour driver) and we were put in touch with Mr. Damithra of SLRide. Despite the short notice during a busy holiday season, he was able to provide us with a good vehicle, a great driver (Mr Dhanuka) and a fantastic tour guide (Mr. Mark). We provided our itinerary and they organized the whole tour for us from scratch at a very reasonable price.

We had a rented bus with a private driver from slride for a 10 days tour in 5 cities, the driver Mr. Madu was very helpful, knowledgeable about the history of his country and always cheerful and helpful.

This company is absolutely the best to deal with in sri lanka, I highly recommend them especially for long vacations.

We booked SLRIDE for transportation from the Colombo airport to our hotel in Weligama as well as return. Booking was a breeze and communication was great to confirm, exchange details about arrival / departure, etc. The drivers were punctual, professional but also friendly. The cars are clean and seem well-maintained. All-in-all a great, worry-free experience that I can highly recommend.

A bit of a disappointment. The key point of contact off the site was very responsive both before and during our trip. However, the vehicle (with photos) were were promised was not what we got - it needed fixing a couple of times, the aircon did not keep up. When we raised issues with the company, the driver got upset with us and told us not to raise issues with the company (weird and strange). The driver appeared to get kick-backs from various places and people, so put pressure on us to undertake activities we were not interested in, and then grew sulky when we didn't do them. The full payment expected on day 1 - before we actually could assess the vehicle in day light and the driver (noting a significant deposit is made upfront) also made us feel trapped. The driving was ok - we felt safe most of the time. We did need to remind the driver to pull over for the numerous phone calls he received (easily over 15 a day) - hands free and sat nav would have been useful. The driver was not as familiar with the areas and was not much of a guide. He kept relying on our phones to navigate which was unhelpful. I would not recommend.

This was our second time of using SL Ride in Sri Lanka. Damithra & team are professional, friendly, very flexible, and provide excellent customer service - both in arranging good accommodation, transfers, and in local information. Special mentions to Damithra, Romesh, Gihan, Jude and Mark for their care and friendliness. Prior to and during our trip Damithra was very conscientious in ensuring our holiday went smoothly, we felt we were in very safe hands. Exceptional value for money, given the levels of care, professionalism and genuine friendliness from everyone we have met so far from SL Ride. Thank you!

Thank you to the SLRide team for making our trip to Sri Lanka a very memorable one! Their service right from booking to follow up was very good. Vehicles are of good standard and very well maintained. Our Luxury Hiace Van was just right for a group of ten with full luggage. Our driver Romesh was exceptional with his service. His suggestions and guidance were very helpful for our self planned trip. We traveled around a thousand kms for 6 days and not a single complaint from anyone! Would highly recommend to anyone considering to rent a vehicle in SL.

PS: Was skeptical about the negative reviews initially but it's just a group spam, anyone with fair judgement should overlook that.

One of the worst tour operators in the country. Owner Mr. Cross himself had rated his agency 5 and later deleted it. Ratings in FB is purely based on the ones by their Croos family members.

Strongly dont recommend this operator - All they are concerned about is MONEY only. Nothing else. If they don't get their daily tips and other commissions from you, they'll make their best attempts to screw your trip up.

They'll slowly elude you into their own packages for getting their commissions (Tie ups) for events like rafting, whale watch, safari etc although the one we had already booked was way better and cheaper than theirs. If you try resisting, they'll spoil your plans.

They had successfully managed to play spoilsport on our morning yala safari, we had to settle down for noon safari ending up in not spotting a single leopard.

The chauffeur namely Mr. Chaminda was consistently speaking bad about our country and started playing weird politics with us like not picking us up from our hotel, making us walk metres deliberately with silly excuses like the cab won't climb up the hill. He also threatened to leave us mid trip saying he was not comfortable with us and our nationality- All this for MONEY despite us having paid on multiple occasions for breakfast/lunch/dinner of the chauffeur.

They need to realise they can't take all this money along when they die.

You'll not ger any support from their owner too as we had clearly communicated all our sufferings and we failed to get any solutions.

Strictly avoid if you have any ideas to enjoy your trip without any mental disturbances.

Probably the only operator where the owner himself (Mr Damithra Croos) rates his own agency 5 star! Way to Go Mr. Damithra

We collagues wanted to have better experience during our Lanka trip, but we only had bitter experience with these guys. Both d agent and driver were keen on finding ways and means to get money from us and nothing else and the worst part is they also spoke bad abt Indians. We have also informed d indian embassy in this regard. I strongly recommend even if they are providing d service of cost, pls don't take it up. They ll only make ur trip miserable
