Disappointing Stay: A Review of My Experience at The Golf Green City

During my recent vacation, I reserved a deluxe double full-board basis room with a garden view at a hotel. However, upon arriving on December 25, I encountered various issues. Despite the reservation for LKR 30,000, the hotel manager informed me that my room had been taken, and I was provided with a single bed, one pillow for the 2 person, no garden view, and no ability to open the windows. Additionally, there were no heaters, and I had to wait 40 minutes for the water tank to be filled, as there was no water in my room due to a faulty water pump.

When inquiring about meals, I was given a menu to choose from, but my orders were not fulfilled. The manager mentioned a limited food supply in the area and provided the wrong food menu, attributing it to the chefs' anger. Upon checking out on the 26th, I was informed of additional charges for the meals I had ordered, even though I had already paid the total cost online. The manager explained that the ordered meals were not covered by the full-board basis, already Manger said to select our meals, check out time he's not taken any responsibility, contrary to what I was initially told. The management team doesn't know what the full board basis One person does everything, sometimes he is not at the hotel, He went around the city and collected the food items for the guests.

Expressing my dissatisfaction, I questioned the discrepancy in showing a full-board basis for LKR 30,000. The manager had no clear explanation and suggested contacting top management to clarify the charges. Overall, my experience with this hotel's management was disappointing, and I would advise against staying.guys don't waste your money,

Very modest hotel, built back in the colonial era, just wonderful. The rooms are cozy, the service is excellent, the view of the golf course. Downtown. I recommend.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at The Golf Green Nuwara Eliya, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Located in the picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya, this hotel offers a serene and tranquil ambiance that perfectly complements the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Such a beautiful place in this colonial English house with a lovely garden. The Locations middle in the centre, nice warm shower and good beds. It was a great visit we had there. Great accommodations and facilities. Clean and tidy rooms. Staff members were friendly and efficient. The location is perfect as it's in the city centre, even was very close to the town. Overall good place. Recommend for anyone who want a place to stay in.

The photos are beautifully placed. Not so when you go further. A small place on the side of the road. The photos are really magical. It breaks my heart when I go there. One employee for everything. They said they can't even give us food as we requested. There is no water. No cleanliness. They never even look at the golf green. A person who goes is not told to go.

Situated right in the city, Backyard merges with the golf course and really nice garden at backyard. Nice and comfortable room with timber floor with beautifuly view. The staff is extremely friendly. Highly recommend

Lovely owners, charming hotel, good location. Rooms are a bit dark but fairly clean. Garden is lovely. However without warning, they locked me out the main door while I was at dinner. I returned at 9pm and could not get inside, even while ringing the bell, until another guest came. Would recommend this hotel but suggest they don’t lock guests out.

Ranawana is the best inn keeper! Great place with a good view!

Manager was a money minded person and rate changes after the booking.

No safe parking area.

Checked into this place while on a rush, but they made us feel like home. Located at the heart of the city, close to all needs and attractions. Hot showers, fine food, cozy beds, very attentive and friendly owner and staff made the whole stay comfortable yet not too fancy. The curated furniture, lights and interior makes picture perfect settings. Amazing for a family, a couple or even a solo traveller. Has a small garden and seating/dining area facing golf grounds, perfect spot for a drink or a quick catch up on work with a view. Loved the attention to detail, and the whole homely yet elegant vibe about this place. Would go back for sure.

Homely atmosphere, superior service made ua feel like home. Clean and comfortable rooms. Tasty food. Even though situated in a busy street, once inside its very quite and has a superior view of the Golf course.

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE!
Had an extremely terrible experience. Manager is very greedy, all he care for is money. Shouting on customers publicly and threatening them if extra money is not paid indicates his mentality. He says he knows the local police and will call the cops and make a big issue if guests don’t pay extra money. Better to sleep in car instead of staying at this property if one wants to enjoy a peaceful time in Nuwara Eliya.
