Sun Wind Beach Kite Resort and Kite School Kalpitiya

We had a fantastic time at Susantha’s authentic Sri Lankan family stay. From the first second we felt to be part of the family and everyone cared about the guests’ well being at all times. We slept in one of the Cabanas which is basic and has everything you need (most importantly a secure moskito net) and enjoyed the hammock with the view into the beautifully planted garden. We made many friends along the way, learned much about the country Sri Lanka and really enjoyed our evening activities and conversations with Susantha and the group. Thank you for the Amazing times - We will definitely come back!

Note: if you plan on continuing your trip, you can leave your kite equipment with Susantha and have it sent by taxi to the airport when you leave.

The pumpkin curry of the resort‘s chef, susantha‘s mother is amazing, the instructors and helpers are really supportive and the kite spot is just around the corner. The lagoon might be a little gusty, however the great team definitely makes up to that. And when you get to bored with this Spot there are the downwind trips from the puttalam lagoon. I definitely gonna come again:)

Hands down best place to stay in Kalpitiya! As soon as you walk in you are part of the family, such a warm and welcoming place. Home cooked meals, fun/kind people, and one of the best kiting spots around. Susantha and his family really take care of their guests and care. If you want to kite and have a fun time this is the place for you:) thanks for making my trip fantastic!

The best host so far! Susantha treated really good with a free boat ride and a sea bath. The fresh seafood dinner was amazing and the best had in a long time. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kalpitiya or surrounding area

Owner Susantha and his family something you really want to support when you are going to Kalpitiya. Susanthas mom is taking care that you will eat the best and healty Sri Lankan food! If you are beginner Kitesurfer, i bet that with their crew you will learn how to kite! I was there in December 2019. It has taken me a bit to write about them because I couldn't find the words to express what have they meant to me. I discovered at their place that it takes less than a week to love someone. We felt like at home. Mom's food was incredible. They helped me overcome my fears and I finally did it, I did kitsurf! Thanks Susantha and family, you'll always be in my heart. I'll be back for sure!

Absolutely loved this place, that's why we decided to stay an extra week! The people are so nice and funny! Such a good vibe at the resort! The kitesurf-spot in the lagoon is also great! Mama's food is delicious! We'll for sure go here again!
