Nest Wood Bungalow

The scenery around the place stole the show. Great service by the cook and the assistant. Rooms were clean and also the bathrooms. Recommend hiring a 4x4 or SUV if you wish to get there, or from the hotel they provide travel arrangements from the Kalawana town. I would give extra stars if possible.

This is not related to the location. The person who is picking the phone is ridiculous. He is just thinking we are coming to stay freely in their place. Just train your staff how to treat clients. Poor customer service

The road is difficult. The view is amazing. Food was good but not the BBQ. Can enjoy with a group of friends.

We (8 people) stayed for a day. Rats also inside rooms. Water licking to beds. At least water lick from 10 places. No tv and most power station cleats not working. Need electricity to get water to bathrooms. When no electricity no water. Not recommending this place at all

You can't reach to the top in your own vehicle. Last mile of the road is terrible.you have to park your vehicle 2km away from the hotel & travel in a Bolero cab provided by them (which costed extra Rs. 3000/=). When you board the Cab you gonna bang your head here & there unless you grab tight.
Talking about the place, It is an isolated location where you won't disturb anyone nearby which is a good thing. Pool is not the largest & only 3 feet deep from every corner. Rooms are specious enough, Only 1 bathroom in the upper floor.
Taste of the food need some improvement too. Pork dishes were out of planet. Black pork curry is yellowish & Pork Stew was not sour at all.
Overall I don't recommend this place for a foodie or family with kids. Whole property is quite small in terms of size & there is nothing much you can do rather than relaxing in the pool.

Way to the bungalow is so risky unless you go in a four wheel. Specially under the rainy weather conditions.

There are 2 rooms and one common bathroom, and the living area. Living area was not clean at all.was covered with dust, insects, and hair.
In one room the ceiling fan was not working. During the day and even in the middle of the night, it could be burning hot. Shower cubical door was broken. No amenities.

Mattress in the living area was worn out and cannot think of even sitting on it.it was really disgusting.

Requested for a one hour late check-out on a Sunday. But was chased away. But was stressing on getting the balance payment.
Service was not the best. Attitude was bad. Food was average. Surrounding was amazing.
Overall, it’s wasn’t value for money. Utterly disappointed compared to the way they have marketed.

Best view so far, the staff was very helpful and flexible. We requested a late checkout and they were flexible enough to offer it free of charge.

This is a perfect location for a vacation. Property was well cleaned and supporters are very helpful. Foods also very good. They cleaned the bungalow and pool before every booking. Worth for the price.

The property is pretty nice. They clean the pool and refill every day. But the pool is not that large. The rooms and windows are not clean, and there was so much dirt under the chairs. The chef is very helpful, and his food is pretty tasty. Overall, I dont think the place is not worth the price.

Bungalow in a breathtakingly beautiful natural setting positioned above a mountain. The bungalow was unorganized and not properly cleaned throughout.

They get the advance & play a clever game to use it as their profit. Plz don't visit those third class places. They provided our booking date to another team. We lost 10,000/=. Think twice before reserving such unrated properties.

Very unprofessional team, We changed our date of the trip and asked for a another date. They agreed BUT, few daysbefore the trip when we were checking, They informed us that the date was already reserved for a another family. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED and they didn't agree to refund our advance payment even with their fault. Think twice, if you really need to visit this place. Don't trust their words. Keep everything in evidence. #shameonyounestwoodbonglowkalawana#

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Very unprofessional management. We changed our planned trip dates to another due to the unavailability of this property. And these unethical people agreed us with our new dates. After wasting so much of time, days, calls they have simply sent a message saying the property is unavailable for us and some other team taken it. They must have got a good offer rather than ours. They refused to refund our advance payment and they said it is customer fault because we didn't follow up them and confirm their reservation time to time. Worst reservation ever. Shame of you Nestwood.

This is a perfect spot for a gateway weekend. There is a small thing you should do if you wanna book this place. Don't try to book it before a month. Also if you do please do the advaced payments and confirm with them.

Have to mention the staff. They was really helpful. When we was going it only cost us LKR 34000 to the venue and LKR 3000 to up and down travel once. If we go there using our vehicle we can park it safely and use their vehicle to get to the location.
This is one of the best weekend gateways I had. I'm hoping to visit the place again.

There's many glowing reviews about this place, but It can be maintained far better. I'm just jotting down few points where It should have been improved.

1. Washrooms are very basic and does not look clean. There's no such thing as water pressure.
2. No AC's + the fan in one room isn't working. It can be pretty hot during the day
3. The mattress in the living area is worn out and can be compared to a padura.
4. The pool, while it looks amazing. It's freezing as well, not their fault technically. But something you should consider, because there's barely any activity you can do when you visit them.

Some plus points
1. The view looks amazing over here, sometimes even the area surrounding the bungalow is covered by mist.
2. Food was prepared well, the staff is actually very friendly.

Over all this was a okay stay.

This accommodation has a really beautiful view. It is located in front of a beautiful green mountain view. We were with our friends one day. It was very fun. Climate change soon. Really amazing.the fog always comes and goes. The bungalow is very clean and perfect. The chef is a friendly and kind person. Best service and beautiful location. I strongly recommend locals and expats to stay at this bungalow. We hope to come again. Thanks to the owner and staff of "Nest Wooden Bungalow".

Very reasonable budget place. Foods are very nice and service it also outstanding.
If I have a chance to give six star rating I’ll go for that.

Amazing place. Worth every penny spent. Chef is next level. One of the best meals I had. Take their Cab to reach the location as it's off road. Take whatever you need from Kalawana town.

Amazing experience in Nest Wood Bungalow. We spent 1 day with the family and We love the pool. It is very silent, calm and superb place to enjoy the nature. In the night mist is all over the place and it feels like we are in the sky. Foods are delouses. Staff is very friendly. If anyone going there, get the cook's phone number and give him your menu. He will take the food from shop and arrange the meals. You can just pay the bill. I strongly suggest it than you bring all the food items for your meals. At the end, this is a must visit place. We are planning to go again at the end of the year.

Villa is blessed with natural ambience.
Chef and the stuff was nice and friendly.
