Srilanka Best Safari Udawalawe

We had a wonderful safari with Subhash. He was able to give us a lot of information about all the animals (he even knew the German and French names) and knew where they like to be at what time of day, which is why we saw all the animals we wanted to see. We booked a 12 hour tour, which I would recommend to everyone to have a unique experience and see the most animals. Food was included and was prepared with a lot of love. We had a lot of fun with Subhash. 10/10! 100% recommendation!

There really is no words to captivate the experience my friends and I had with Subhash. What he gave us was a true Sri Lankan experience. More than just a safari but an awakening to how beautiful life really is. Subhash and his family have taught us something that is worth more than any price tag. We had a great safari with Subhash today.
We were picked up at 5: 30 and were on safari for 6 hours. We felt very comfortable. Subhash speaks English very well and explained a lot. He listened to our wishes and even brought my son a birthday cake. Totally lovely!
We were lucky and saw a large herd of elephants and babies right away. That was very impressive.
We can recommend him without reservation (2 friends with 2 small children (6 years and 4 years)

Subhash is a great guy and speaks very clear English! He knows a lot about the park, it‘s animals and pays attention to respecting them in their territory while giving his guests great insights into Sri Lanka’s stunning flora and fauna.

The safari was amazing. The guide is super nice and knows a lot. We saw a lot of animals. They respond very quickly over whatsapp. We had a jeep for just the 2 of us. Defenetly worth booking!

Beautiful safari tour. Or guide Subhash was kind and very knowledgeable about the animals. We book the afternoon tour the same day in the morning and he was waiting for us with water and cookies for us. He tried very hard to show us as many animals as possible and we really saw a lot of them.

We went on safari with Subhash and it was a really good experience. He enlighted us about the wildlife, especially about elephants and birds. He took some time for explanations (in English) and had a nice pictoral guidebook with him. He deliberately went on an alternative way to avoid a traffic jam in the parc which we really enjoyed. He even brought water and cookies for us!

Absolutely perfect Safari experience! From the moment we were welcomed by Subhash, to the time we said our goodbyes, he took the best possible care of us. We were able to see amazing wildlife, he got the perfect angles for all the pictures we wanted, and even got us to our desired sunset location right in time for the golden hour! We had a wonderful experience with Subhash. He is a wonderful guide, passionate and fascinating. He perfectly knows Udalawale Parc. He shared with us his rich story and experience, which got from many years on this land. We were alone, far from others cars, closer to animals, it was authentic. Subhash is very caring. Subhash is a great guide, he has a lot of knowledge about the animals and gives them the space they need. He doesn’t rush and takes the time to explain every animal.
We saw many elephants really close, crocodiles, buffalos, chakal, different birds, lizards and even a chameleon. We also enjoyed a beautiful sunset, as we chose the afternoon tour.
Subhash listens carefully without being pushy and will arrange anything you need. All in all it was an incredible experience and we are very grateful for choosing Subhash as our guide who offered a fair price for the safari.

We had the best safari experience. Subhash picked us up from the hotel sharp at 5: 30 am. He is quite knowledgable about all animals (including the birds) living in national park. I would hight recommend him to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience!

We have today morning safari 4 hours with subhash his knowledgeable Guide and we show lot of elephants and monkeys, Jackals, Crocodiles, Different type Birds, Thank you subhash

In our tour jeep, just after the entrance of national park, in the middle of jungle, our driver stopped the car and told us that there are some guides for this kind of tours and generally they can charge us 2500-3000 rs. And he said that if we want he can also can tell about the park:)

So it turned out these kind of tours don't include the guide charges. So if you ask from the driver to tell something about the park and animals they can expect a good tip.

So our driver expected, too, off course. He said to us that we were so lucky because he is explaining everything during all over the tour. Also he was complaining about hot weather and how hard is his job.

And we gave him the tip. But he never satisfied the amount of the tip so he started to tell about his medical condition that will leave him jobless in one year.

They aren't really interested in giving a service or making you live a good experience to make you tell the other people how magnificent place is Sri Lanka. These people are only interested in taking your money as much as possible.

And after the tour we checked the photos of the other visitors, and discovered that we didn't get closer to the elephants at all like the other visitors.

It was the best safari tour I was doing for a long time. I did the morning tour and got picked up at my hotel at 6: 45.
I had such a nice and experienced driver who knew so much about the animals that I didn’t need a tour guide at all.

Elephant Safari, Udawalawe National Park

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka - our tracker was delightful and knew exactly where to be looking to spot all sorts of wildlife in this national park. We saw mongoose, jackals, and heaps of amazing birds as well as elephants of course. A real treat was seeing a large male elephant nudging a couple of crocs back into the water! We went on the afternoon safari and it was very special to be out on the safari as the sun was sinking low, and the evening drive back to our hotel past the reservoir and through the local villages was almost as good as the safari! I thoroughly recommended this safari!
