Hideaway Resort

We stayed at Hideaway for 5 nights. There was a very loud party in the immediate neighborhood of two of them. At a party the bass was so strong that everything in the room vibrated. That means unfortunately my earplugs and noise canceling didn't help. I am aware that the Hideaway has no influence on this. Nevertheless, I think it is important for people looking for relaxation and a good night's sleep to know this, as the price of the rooms is not exactly cheap.
The rooms are nicely decorated. What's great is that you always get filtered water. The breakfast is very nicely prepared and delicious. The coffee is great. The portion of the “breakfast special” could be a little larger. For almost $200 per night, I think you should get both a fruit juice and a coffee at breakfast.
The jeep trip to the national park was a wonderful experience. The guide had a lot of exciting things to say.
The communication worked very well.

Hideaway is simply amazing. Aditya's yoga class is amazing. He knows about the real connection between mind and body, with a deep knowledge about Anatomy, the secuence, and benefits with a purpose.

But what truly stood out was the Ayurvedic massage treatments with natural oils. The masseuse in Arangum Bay did an exceptional job. It was a pampering session that left me feeling completely rejuvenated.

In summary, Hideaway is the perfect place to unwind and take care of yourself. Both the yoga classes and the Ayurvedic massage are must-try experiences for anyone seeking a casual yet luxurious wellness getaway.

We were the first guests at "Podi Gedera (small house) ". Two room double story unit with shared living and kitchen space. It was quaint private space for a small group or two families.

The rooms doesn’t stand in the standard and for sure doesn’t worth the price.
We couldn’t close the door of the room, we had a flood in the room and a lot of noise, no clean towels or linens and for sure the management of the hotel doesn’t understand how to handle problematic situations and make you feel uncomfortable when you mention the problems. I talked personally with the owner of the hotel and the response of her was ridiculous (no new linens because of COVID, meanwhile everywhere else is new and clean and etc.)
The restaurant of the hotel is very good and also the location.
The staff are nice but you don’t get a felling of home, we moved out asap.

The best resort in Arugam Bay!
At the beginning of our stay in Arugam Bay, we booked another hotel, and we had a really bad experience after one night (long story short - frogs and lizards in our room).
We tried to find the best place to continue our honeymoon and Hideaway Resort was definitely the right place!
The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. They tried to give us the best honeymoon experience and organized for us a romantic dinner with a special menu.
We had an amazing time in Hideaway Resort and wish to come back one day!

We went back for a second time, because the atmosphere was Nice.

This time we tried to order sweet Potato Fries (my pregnant wife had a craving) off the lunch menu at night. They said it was no problem, we just had to wait until 6.30.

We waited for almost two hours and then the bald Waiter told us they wouldnt make it.

Aside from music nights, i wouldnt recommend the place.

Had the best time at Hideaway during our stay in Arugam Bay! Had previously been here 5 years ago so already had fond memories of the place - can say that it still lives up to those memories and remains a 'hotspot'!

Had an absolute blast one night with incredible music & dancing!
Another night my friends and I chilled out with our drinks in a treehouse decked out in fairy lights, which was pretty magical.

Can also recommend the ayurvedic massage at the resort spa - I was thoroughly pampered with an oil infused with >80 spices!

They have gluten free chocolate cake.
Wifi does not work well. Red wine is warm, almost spoiled.
The guy who charges has no smile at all.

Great food, great service and a super place for an evening out. Especially when Jerome and Aitana are singing

We loved coming here in the mornings for a chilled coffee and breakfast or a sweet treat (amazing cakes). We so loved the staff and chilled layout. Even though it's in the town centre it was the most chilled and relaxing place for us to escape the town business. Our little daughter also enjoyed the space.

The resort is very simple - there is a always a noise, from the bar starting at 8am - 11pm, dogs, crows and from the nearby road.
I was hoping to have Yoga class but there were none for days.
The coffee is great BUT it's only served until 2pm, can't get it in the evening and there is no cattel in the room.
The pool is green and wasn't inviting (from my point of view).
In the end we have stayed for one night and left.
Make sure you have your anti mosquito lotion

Just ate and drank at their bar. Food wonderful creative fusion plates. The chefs attention to detail is amazing. Some people could be turned vegetarians after tasting their small plate options. Same care and precision with their barista quality coffee and cocktails.

We had an amazing experience staying at hideaway. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the food is incredible.
I loved it!

When I arrived in Sri Lanka the Airline lost my luggage with all my stuff and the owner of hideaway was so kind and she borrowed me cloths.
She is really kind and has 2 beautiful dogs:)

Wir hatten hier ein sehr entspanntes und leckeres Frühstück mit tollem Kaffee, frischem Obst und Sauerteigbrot. Ganz niedliche Location und sehr aufmerksames Personal. Alles einwandfrei, wenn auch zu westlichen Preisen, was völlig verständlich ist bei der Qualität.

Such a wonderful place! The rooms are super cozy, the pool area very peaceful and the restaurant is one of the best in Arugam Bay. On top of that the staff is just the sweetest! We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back!

I didn’t stay here but went for a Ashtanga Yoga glass. The yoga space is very well maintained (open air with a roof and next to the swimming pool). The class was very professional and I also felt welcome. They also have aerial yoga here but I didn’t try.

There is also a nice shop at the resort front that belongs to the resort. They sell really nice fabrics and accessories. The staff is very friendly

This is a real oasis in arugam bay! The bungalows are beautiful. Their pool is so beautifully set with frangipani trees around and the yoga Shala is so special. Their kitchen is the best we’ve experienced in Sri Lanka! Every ingredient is so fresh and each meal is really thought about. This is a must!

Totally overrated: not bad quality but three times the normal price at least (Rs 300 for a King coconut, $10 for a poor little salad.). Even more, when they are about to close they don't pay attention to the quality of service. It's unfortunately very common in this country, but especially shocking when you charge more than $10 a single very ordinary salad. I don't recommand (and I'll never go there any more)!
