Kottukal Beach / Pottuvil Point

I wanted to share my experience. The beauty of the place left a lasting impression, and I am grateful for the opportunity to explore such a unique and picturesque destination.

The natural beach exuded a sense of tranquility and serenity that is hard to find in other crowded tourist spots. The soothing sound of the waves combined with the rugged beauty of the rocks created a peaceful atmosphere.

Actually my favourite spot as far less crowded than A-Bay mainpoint.especially with a board with a bit volume, bit bigger, a super fun wave with long rides.after 3pm lots of surfschools

A good place for surfing, great for beginners, as the bottom is sandy and pleasant, and you can ride the wave to the neighboring beach 150-150) meters, of course in the season when the waves and level of surfing are good. Of course, there are a lot of people and it’s not always possible to surf for fun. But the place for beginners is simply excellent, I will not hesitate to repeat it again. There are problems with boards, so if you don’t have your own, it can be difficult to rent, I rented them at a cafe from Muhamed, he rents boards for 1,500 rupees per day, but he doesn’t have many boards. I can say for sure that there is also a cafe for surfers, which is located in the middle of the village along the main road and there for 1500 without haggling with excuses, but much further and not very convenient, but if you have transport or live nearby, then I think you can take there are boards)

One of the beautiest beach in Sri Lanka. Most famous for Surfing around the season July to September. But its crowded tho in the season. Because it is a iconic place among the beaches. All the hotels, restaurant are active on those season. Rest of the year it is deserted. If you are going on off-season its very peaceful and relaxing. ️ You can have a sea bath and enjoy a wonderful views from here. Specially like Sun Rise ️. Road to the place is a bit narrow unpaved road through the rural village. Its not much developed area. But the best places are in those points. So enjoy!

Peacefull location where the kottukal lagoon meets the sea. Also known as Pottuvile point by most surfers.is most active & effective for pro surfers by mid July till abt Oct

Well worth hiring a scooter from Arugum bay to come here
