If you need a nice quiet and clean place to stay then I couldn’t recommend this place any more!

The room, toilet and beds were super clean, nice to have a separate bed with a mosquito net and A/C was working well.

Not a super social hostel but if you want a quiet stay, this is a great place, good price too. I was blessed that the guys in my room were cool and we made friends.

They have Wi-Fi, laundry and a kitchen available for use also, so you can cook your own food which is super nice. I didn’t use these facilities but it’s a nice option to have.

The staff and owners were incredible! So kind, chatty and friendly, really nice people.

Location is good also, on the main road but wasn’t noisy for me. Lots of surf shops and restaurants nearby, DP was a local food spot just two buildings over and I really loved it there, tasty food, good price and such friendly and caring people:)

Amazing value for the money. Newly renovated, spacious, spotless and very well designed rooms with perfectly working aircon. You feel rightaway very comfortable like at home. The hosts are very warm welcoming, helpful offering services of all kind, but are not pushy at all. A place you defenitly come back to and you want to stay longer and longer. We highly recommend to stay here. The location is great, just a minute walk to the beach or in good walking distance, 10 min, to the more busy part of Arugam. Even if the mosque or school is nearby we barely heard any noise. Perfect sleep due to super comfy mattrasses and bedding.

Very clean hostel with the possibility to cook for yourself.
Laundry service not recommended! First there were large new stains on the laundry, which they then removed again. After that, however, a pair of socks were gone due to too much bleach.

The hotel is very good value for money, clean and tidy. The location is very central and you can walk to the beach and many popular bars in just a few minutes. Because it is on the main road, it is not very quiet. We got the opportunity to use the neat and clean kitchen and also had our laundry cleaned there. Unfortunately, the socks have probably discolored due to too much bleach. All in all we were very satisfied and can recommend the hotel!

If you think that you will be welcome here… you are greatly mistaken.
Every day, the local boss will tell you that you are a pig and you need to be more careful.

We felt very comfortable during our stay. The room was very clean and large and the interior was very good with mosquito net, large bed and a fan. Tips for the surrounding area were also always available and the host was very concerned about our well-being. The beach is only a few minutes walk away and services like transportation, breakfast or laundry are no problem. All in all, highly recommended.

Nice place. Pretty cheap, there are everything you need. Hosts are very helpful and friendly. But we faced a problem with cockroaches. I don’t know why, maybe from the street, maybe from the kitchen. But be careful if you have phobia or something.

A really nice place, clean and spacious rooms, good welcoming hosts. Even non-AC rooms stay cool during May-July season. 100% recommended.

Super clean facilities, comfy bed, great breakfast, really nice staff (Paul was very helpful). Best accommodation for the money I had in Sri Lanka, by far.

Nice place, it’s quite nosy though as it’s directly at the main road. WiFi is way too slow for use.its clean and the breakfast ist good and inclusive, though if it’s crowded in the morning your have to wait until 30 minutes.overall good

Very friendly host and the staff were super helpful. Anything we needed was taken care off instantly.

The location was superb. 1 minute walk straight to the beach and a supermarket below. Many good restaurants around the resort.

Fantastic stay at Shadow Bay. Clean spacious room, comfortable bed, mosquito net, lockable cupboard for valuables, good value for money and great hospitality from staff. Staff and owner were always helpful and made sure we were happy. Good location, very close to the beach and shops. Would definitely recommend!

Good but not the best-don't trust the owner -the price for stay, transfer, tour is the highest

A fairly new player in town. And quite a large building too. New Super Market below. Which is well stocked and airconditioned.
