Shim Beach Resort

A great place to have a relaxing time. The location is great. Had a wonderful time. The team was great help

There was apparently a major miscommunication between the management in Colombo & the staff in the location. Was a mess.
I communicated our food preferences days ahead & confirmed hours ahead. The Shim staff was informed by Colombo only 1 hour before we came. Colombo promised prices well in advance but Shim staff didn’t know of it!
Also, bedrooms needed improvements.
Staff were not friendly at all.
Location was good.
I cannot recommend this. Very disappointed. According to comments, it must be good for foreigners but not for locals!

Ameen and his staff are quite simply the best. Immediately part of the family here. The food is INCREDIBLE, right on the beach and you can hear the waves crashing from the huts.

Hammocks to chill in, fresh coconuts in the morning. Little slice of heaven

The people working there treat the guests like a nuisance. The owner is not Fendley. It took a long time to prepare the food.

Great accommodation away from the bustle of town. Stars are amazing. You’ll have the beach to yourself. Accommodation is comfortable. Will be back.

Most relaxing place for yogis like me to escape the town life, especially watching the milkway at night, best food and great host is pleasing everyday of my stay.booked 1 night and end of for a month now.thank you

Wow rating place, this is the beach front resort is awesome place to have your pleasant vacation to stay happy with your family and friends.

One of the best places I've stayed so far. Everything was perfect at there. I highly recommend this resort to anyone.

One of the best hidden places in In East you can have your own beach front of the room. We can have a nice walk to elephant? And crocodile rock. Also it's very close to the lagoon we can go for fishing. BBQ available here.

Best stay in Sri lanka so far for me, have been in Sri lanka now for almost 2 month, but this place was the one I was looking for, so peaceful and the location is so nice it's really special. Also the staff was more than great. Stayed there for 1 week now my flight is going home When I come back to arugam bay will definitely stay there again. If you are looking for some place where you can get to yourself that's the place to be for me.

Only one cook available for entire place.

Nice quiet beach, authentic village around and very friendly staff and manager. Much better than Arugambe downtown

I had a great experience on the stay at Shim Beach Resort. The stay, the surrounding were extra ordinary and the staff were very friendly and the meal was fabulous, specially have to mention the awsome BBQ experience we had, it was massive spread and lovely.
The beach area was private to us and we could enjoy exclusive family time, mesmerise sunset and sun rise. The resort was kids friendly and kids had a fabulous time playing sand castle and be on their own.
The windy admospere, greenery environment well maintained, clean rooms with washrooms and friendly staff all together made our stay wonderful, I would highly recommend a stay more than one night as you would regret walking away in one day as the stay was serene with the most deserved relaxing holiday destination.
We even had a morning walk to crocodile rock, which was 1.5 km beach walk from Shim resort, an unpolluted beautiful rock on pottuvil beach shore, which gave us a lovely view and much deserved mini rock walk which we could make with a toddler along with us.
Tourist along with local community really can have a beautiful experience On the stay, the place can accommodate more than 20 people, as they have many accomodations.
Overall an undiscovered beautiful location, which is a must to stay for a much deserved holiday experience.

Good beach area place to stay. Small hotel with good service. Have turtles if you go to the beach early enough (seasonal I guess). Food was simple not much options.freindly staff.

Thanks to the owner we had a nice break. The service was brilliant and the staff was frindly. Too basd to see what covid has done to the industry, what a nice place that is being hardly used.nice beach. Recommended.

Good place near Arugambay beach. Very peaceful. Good service and the owner is a good guy who always willing to help. Well maintained clean place. Should have more variety of food options.

It was during Sri Lankan new year festival season. Good clean beach with lot of soft sand.loved the location and stay.good people and service. Food was simple but great. Value for the money. Very good place to come.there were some surfers too. Happy.
