I want to express my deepest GRATITUDE for the wonderful service and care given during our stay by the staff of Bandarawella Hotel! During our pleasant stay we experienced a medical emergency and the staff of Bandarawella Hotel went ABOVE AND BEYOND their responsibilities to make sure we were well looked after. They acted IMMEDIATELY and saw to all our needs, even during the hospital stay. Be it bedding, food, transport.it was all provided without us even asking for it! Whole hearted appreciation to the General Manager, front office, restaurant and kitchen staff, room service and security. OUSTANDING service by the whole hotel. I'm in awe!
With regards to the hotel in general, this colonial quaint architecture makes you feel like you were teleported back in time. It was the perfect location to wind down, relax whilst enjoying delicious, hearty meals and the cool breezy weather! This hotel will definelty be on my travel list again!

Located right in the middle of the town. It has this british colonial look. The food is very tasty. A lot of people around the city visit the place to taste the food. Even the travellers who pass Bandarawela come and have food at this location. A person called Nadeeka at the reception provided a good service. Staff are friendly. But it is certainly not the place to stay. Rooms are horrible. That is the biggest disadvantage.

Was there for late lunch on 2 consecutive days. Food was awsome & the bar too. Had a look at the rooms and they were really cool takes you back in time too the 1950's. Yet well maintained, clean, spacious & nice.

Still the quality is same. Delicious food, parking also easy. I would suggest to improve the customer service

Took the food over and over to come and that too was a disappointment. There is a clear difference between Fish n Chips and Fish fingers which the Chefs don't seam to realise, given its one of the oldest establishments in the country you'd also except them to know how to make a half decent shepherd's pie after taking so long.

Best luxurious Hotel in Bandarawela!

I recently went to the Bakery opened at Cargills by the Bandarawela Hotel. Their cakes were fresh and tasted really good. I enjoyed eating them. Their Chocolate cake is highly recommendable. They never miss their standards. Expecting more from you guys.

A beautiful quaint hotel with rustic charm in the midst of the Bandarawela Town. The rooms are reminiscent of the colonial style, with vintage baths and beds.

Disappointing service. No information given regarding hotel meals etc. Food for evening meal disappointing. Bar prices much higher than other hotels.
Room was comfortable but no tea or coffee facility provided.

This hotel is owned by Aitken Spence, and its old colonial building which is used for hospital. Situated heart of the Bandarawela town in Welimada road.

First of all being an old place the basic facilities were okay. What let the expectations down was the food as an overall service.

We have booked a FB stay at Bandarawela Hotel and we have arrived to the hotel for the lunch and it was a set menu/À la carte was provided to us. The Worst part was the provided Chicken soup was used as a source for a main dish which has ruined our expectations. The cream of chicken soup was later on used as a source for a main rice dish. Please do not re-use food items like this in different courses.

The room were clean and amenities were all in good condition even they are very old. Since that is the theme they are maintaining at the hotel, the facilities were good. Wifi are only available in common areas, not available in rooms. They are not providing kettles and other facilities for you to make tea in room. No Safe deposit box in place. The rooms were having traditional locks and huge keys.

The dinner was served as a buffet and it was quite nice and had varieties. Specially the Sri Lankan corner was good. Far better compared to the horrible lunch they offered as a set menu.

Library and Pool table were not offered. When I asked for it, the staff said they were closed to the customers and has not really provided any reasons for that. The bar area was left alone and no staff were on duty.

The next day breakfast (again a buffet) was good and had varieties. So, we arrived to the conclusion that the set menu/ À la carte was the issue in this place and not the buffet. If you are staying in this place, make sure to confirm whether they have buffet available or skip the meal if they offer À la carte.

The Garden is full of flowers and greenery was maintained, parking is okay and overall ambience was okay for a 3 star rating from me. Manager on duty were energetic and responsive. Staff were helpful too.

A chill place with a bungalow aesthetic. In the heart of Bandarawela, it is covered in large roses and greenery. The food was really good with portions that Colombo usually doesn't provide. Overall great experience.

Not on par with the hotels or restaurants in the price range when it comes to food or amenities. Good service though

One of the best best hotels in the area. We stayed for one night and it was a warm experience though the environment is so cool. Friendly staff and tasty food. It's a colonial building and lots of monuments are there. They follow a different theme in maintaining the hotel. It's a different kind of experience and Iove it. Felt like I was in a colonial era.
