Waterfalls Homestay

It is difficult to chose between all the accommodations in Ella. We were recommended this place by friends and had the best breakfast in Sri Lanka, a great view and the perfect homestay experience, as you can always chose between “privacy” and “public area”. Our kids were allowed to play with the household’s toys and we could directly start small hikes from the homestay. Highly recommended.

We stayed three nights at Waterfalls Homestay and enjoyed every second of it! The food was delicious every single day. The breakfast by itself would be a reason to spend a night here: next to curd and fruit salad, a different kind of home made muffin every single time! To top up, the hosts with their rich mix of cultures (Birmese, Australian, Singalese) bring the best of all worlds to this single place. I hope we can visit again!

We stayed in the jungle room and the studio. Both very nice and neat rooms. The view from the jungle room is breathtaking. The breakfast is delicious: egg, homemade bread, muffin, curd, fruit, super tasty. The proprietors are very helpful. We received clear instructions for walks in the area. The massage they offer is blissfully soothing. Doing!

A 15 minutes walk from Ella. Very welcoming place. We had a nice room and perfect breakfast! You can start hiking from the doorstep. Highly recommended!

Hostess Kia is Australian and her husband is from the Highlands which is a perfect combination. They know their stuff and are happy to help with trips, their accommodation is quite charming and equipped with all amenities. The breakfast is high quality, with delicious fruits, curd, homemade bread, great jam, etc. It was really exceptional. We arrived on Easter Sunday and Kia had prepared Easter nests of treats for our boys, that was so thoughtful and sweet! We can warmly recommend the accommodation!

A very beautiful place to stay, very clean water works really well. The family is very friendly and hospitable, always gave delicious tea and something to eat. The tuk tuk ride costs 500-600 rupins. And you can really sit outside relax and have a nice view

Amazing Homestay, friendly people. View from the terrace on Small Rawana Waterfall and the valley is breathtaking. Rooms are lovely and very clean. Hosts make sure you have everything you need and want. Best homemade breakfast with freshly baked bread and muffins. Although the cats and dogs are very cute, maybe find a way to keep the dogs away from Verandah doorstep at night, so they don't wake the guests. But that is a minor thing. Overall a lovely place absolutely worth visiting

We could have not have hoped for a better place to stay than Waterfall Homestay. Kiah, Lakshan and their toddler Jasper were very welcoming, answering our many questions, directing us to major and lesser known attractions and treating us more like friends rather than guests. The waterfall and treescape views were mesmerising, the room spacious and stylish.
The bed was comfortable and we both slept really well in the quiet surrounds, waking each morning to birdsong and the sound of the waterfall gushing. The bathroom was large with plenty of shelving and a good sized towel rack and the water pressure and heat of the shower excellent.
To top it all off, the generous and delicious home made breakfast was really something to look forward to each day.
It was very hard to leave! Highly recommended!

Wonderful little family-run guesthouse with 4 nice rooms. Awesome views overlooking the valley and the Ella waterfall. The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka - homemade bread with cooked to order eggs - all while enjoying the view and watching the monkeys play in the nearby trees. The rooms are clean and the hosts are there to help you with anything you need and they are happy to share their favorite restaurants and places.
Felt like a home away from home!

Homestay is 15 minutes walk from Ella centre, which we found very convenient as it is away from the centre rush and noise (You can walk or take a TukTuk). It is run by a very friendly Australian-SriLankan couple - always a pleasure to stop and chat and they are very helpful in giving advices on what to visit in Ella (we received their home-made map of everything around)

Breakfasts are simply great - one of the best we've had during our stay, still can't decide which one was better - and we've had two ;)

Note: they are not on booking so You need to book directly; well deserved 5 stars.

Excellent accommodation and outstanding hospitality. Beautiful secluded location, and the best facilities experienced on this trip to date. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

The location is wonderful, you are literally surrounded by the jungle. The room is tiny but cosy. The owners are lovely and give you a lot of suggestions and activities to do in Ella (ex.cooking class at Lanka's restaurant). Breakfast is a charming and relaxing moment with high quality local food at the terrace with a view on waterfalls. The dinner is at a local restaurant next by, with a good Sri Lanka rice and curry. Recommended.

Wow, very positive place here. Karen and her family/staff members are super friendly hosts. The rooms are spacious and with a cosy atmosphere. The view to the waterfalls and jungle simply gorgeous. We would rather have booked one more day here than in Kandy. Homestay Waterfalls deserves a full 5 star rating. Thanks again for your hospitality.
