Amethyst Resort, Passikudah

Stayed for 3 days and 2 nights.

The bathroom is almost as big as the bedroom area. Love the space.

The unit is right next to the beach. Very suitable for those wanting to catch the sunrise. (I wasn't able to because it rained on both morning I was there. Haha).

Wifi was good. Was able to watch some show online without any buffer.

Food was good.

Overall, no complaints. Only good vibes all around.

Stayed one night in a beach cabana. The room location was excellent facing the sea. The wash room and entire room was so spacious, clean and well equipped. Had one of the best experiences in a beach side hotel. The staff was so friendly and professional. The food was superb. Highly recommended for an luxury experience.

Rooms and swimming pool are awesome, but staff could use some training to meet expectations.

Location is the best

Rooms could be cleaner! The restaurant plates, table mats, cups & plates were not clean at times. Our table mats were not changed during our stay which was 3 nights. Food is just average! It is clear they are trying to cut down on costs. Some of the waiters in the hotel are really friendly and do make an effort to take care of you. Reception seems to just ignore requests to clean the room (there was gecko poop in our room along the walls). Pool was great and the resort is in close proximity to the beach. I’d pay more money next time for a cleaner resort with better services and peace of mind. I noticed that a manager responded to all of these reviews ensuring changes but I have seen that these are not happening!

We spent two days at this hotel and had a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and responsive to our needs, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The rooms were clean and well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant environment throughout our visit.
The highlight of our stay was the delicious authentic cuisine, especially the curries. While our first dinner fell short of expectations, the supervisor, Mr. Chaminda, went above and beyond to address our concerns and ensure the rest of our meals were outstanding. We're truly grateful for his efforts.
Overall, this hotel provided a memorable experience, with friendly staff, well-kept rooms. We highly recommend it and want to thank the entire team for making our stay special.

Being a regular traveller I have never experienced such a bad combination of food and service. If the management does not take serious look at the Culinary experience offered to the guests this resort unfortunately will have a natural death.

Rooms were perfect clean and big enough, Bathroom was spacious too. Rosrt has a very big pool wich is 4ft deep and It has two jacuzzis. Staff were pleasent and helpful.
Food is avergae. Management can add more glamour to the hotel make it more attractive.

I have been to this place twice. Had a wonderful experience overall. The staff is friendly and flexible. I believe sea view room is better than river view room. The pool has nice view of the sea. Will visit again.

Beach is superb. Friendly staff. Good service. But food is below average. We got set menu. Poor choices. Quantity of meat and sea food very little. Not enough at all. You have to rummage for meat and sea food in the mixed fried rice and nasigoreng. Loved the beach and the pool. But not worth for the money spent.

Really super hotel & garden is very bigest aera there is a one of tha river and there is a crocodiles in side the river some time we can see the crocodiles & its coming like a early morning & evening times & staff are very friendly with the guests.

We had an incredible time and wedding at the Amethyst with our families and made lots of great memories. The staff were super friendly, the food delicious, the rooms great and the most beautiful beach as you open your door. What more could you ask for!

Needs alot of improvement in all areas! One of the worst hotels I've been to! The only reason I chose this place was because it was pet friendly, but it's not at all safe for pets and also nothing in the room is pet friendly. Not an ideal place for pets. Only good thing about the hotel is the beach.

We had set menu during our visit, and the food options available didn't satisfy our Srilankan taste buds. Some dishes like the Nasigoreng was not upto par. Had to rummage through the rice to find any protien.

A few of our request didn't arrive after we placed the order.

There was a cockroach on the bed

Overall, it was a decent experience. Can't say it was worth the money or that I'll visit them again.

It was a great relaxing vacation in the resort. Very calm and quiet with a good view on the ocean with really good services and rooms.

Worst as hell hotel ever. The resort was clean and tidy when I visit in 2018. Now the maintenance was poor and the service also worst. Not recommended this resort for any kind of visit. I failed to take some pictures of the hotel premises.not only the rooms even the amenities and the exterior also was very dirty and disgusting. Service standards also very shameful. There were no water bottles or coffee makers available. Whatever the country situation or any, I paid and they treated in a bad manner. Better close the resort if you cannot maintain the standard. Don’t try to fool the people.
