Sri Kamakshi Temple / ஸ்ரீ காமாக்ஷி ஆலயம்

Beautiful religious place. Architecture of this hindu temple is great. Kamatchi amman kovil is known among devotees for an exotic experience in hinduism, unlike other traditional hindu temples in Batticaloa. This temple, having more of an indian touch in rituals and poojas, holds a uniquely beautiful way of devotion. This temple, being a private property, run by a management of an orphanage named “Karunalayam” is well managed operationally, at the same time, the premises and kept very clean and tidy. At the entrance there is a huge statue of Hanuman.

We were there today.
The place is beautiful. Clean and groomed.
We then wanted to go to the temple. We were told to only wear a T-shirt. Son ran to the tuk tuk and got our shirts. When we had put these on, there was something again that couldn't be explained. So no need to visit the temple!
Afterwards we wanted to at least take a look at the beautifully landscaped garden. After a few meters we were suddenly not allowed to do this. We just turned around and drove!
Both things were “explained” to us with a smile. We found it hypocritical and a bit hypocritical! First yes then suddenly not?
There were no celebrations planned, otherwise it would have been understandable.

The architecture of the temple is nice and beautiful. The work done for each shrine is very detailed and matches the each God and state's theme. The priests are very knowledgeable, cordial and friendly. Such a nice temple, it is kept clean, Good maintenance.
