I saw a scene where a group of staff got together and attacked musicians and saw that bad experience. We do not know who is at fault. But is that staff members showed their professionally

My family's experience with this hospital during my father's 17-day inpatient stay was far from satisfactory. We cannot recommend this hospital for inpatient care based on our observations and experiences.

The nursing care exhibited significant deficiencies in terms of accountability, understanding of safe practices, adherence to standardized procedures, and empathy. There have been other reviews echoing similar negative experiences with the nursing staff, yet it appears that little has been done to address these concerns. We have provided written feedback to the hospital's senior management, but regrettably, we have received no response thus far. We hope that the hospital takes proactive steps to rectify these issues, improve their processes, and provide training to their nursing staff.

There were notable administrative inefficiencies in the discharging process. My father was supposed to be discharged on the morning of 8/23. However, the majority of the day was wasted waiting for the hospital to prepare the bill. During this extended wait, my father received neither medication or care. We were finally discharged close to 5 pm, which we believe unjustly robbed us of precious time with our father. He passed away less than 24 hours after being discharged.

The consulting doctors were excellent. However, you can get them from other hospitals. The auxiliary staff such as the physiotherapists, nutritionists, meal services, and cleaners were great. But nursing practices seen from both senior and junior nursing staff were questionable. There were only 2 male nurses that did their job right. Others would take any opportunity to skip on their responsibilities.

Few examples:
1. By day 3, we were given contact information for an outside caregiving agency. We were pressured to hire a 3rd party caregiver. Our private caregiver assisted with various essential tasks, such as changing diapers, administering oral medications, and assisting with patient hygiene.

2. Nursing staff wore no gloves for blood draws and didn't disinfect hands. Sometimes, the blood was on their hands. So unhygienic and unsafe.

3. Over a span of two days, the patient's IV tubing port on the hand was repeatedly left uncapped when not in use, even though the nurses noted the missing cannula cap. The hired caregiver took the initiative to get a cap from the nursing station and close it.

4. A male nurse attempted to administer a frozen antibiotic directly into my father's IV line without allowing it to thaw properly. We intervened and asked him to thaw it properly.

5. A nurse connected the IV line but left a significant air bubble in the tubing. It was rectified when we alerted the nurse. On another occasion, a junior nurse picked up the cannula top that was on the floor and attempted to use it.

6. There were several instances where the nursing staff claimed to have taken certain readings, which we later found to be inaccurate upon closer inspection. For instance, they recorded an O2 saturation reading of 96 when it was actually 76. It was only when we raised concerns that action was taken. In another instance, a nurse argued with me about administering an injection that we had brought from home. I knew the exact quantity that should have remained in the fridge, and upon checking, the nurse realized her mistake. Unfortunately, there was no apology, raising doubts about the accuracy of their record-keeping.

7. When the consulting doctors ordered something, it took the staff 2 to 3 days to do them. So after waiting patiently, we/the family had to remind them what was ordered by the consulting doctors. You really need to examine how the hand-offs and communications are taking place w/in nursing.

In conclusion, the issues we encountered during my father's hospitalization raise significant concerns about the quality of care and patient safety at this hospital. We sincerely hope that the hospital's leadership will address these problems promptly and comprehensively to prevent such issues from affecting other patients in the future.

About 5 days ago I had to do an ultrasound scan and I didn’t had enough time to channel a Doctor. So I had to do that in their ultrasound room and the doctor who did scan me was Mrs Nayana Samarasinghe. During that scan she hurt me so badly and I couldn’t pee properly for days and had constipation for 2 days like blocked everything. That was the worst thing that happened in my life. I thought because that’s a lady she will be gentle with the scan. But the outcome wasn’t what I expected.

We made an appointment and came to radiology department and the time is given at 11.55 but my mother was taken to scan at. 1.10pm and staff were not trained to serve the customers and not use the times allocated and should have given a more realistic time slots
We come to a private hospital expecting a better service alone with the environment not to relax in the hospital lobby

I've visited this hospital for the past 12 months, consulting various doctors. The look of the hospital (exterior/interior) is excellent, its clean and overall great atmosphere. The service - I'd not rate excellent, but its good. Most of the doctors I've consulted were of high reputation, and provided excellent consultation, except one! The doctor I was not happy with was Dr. Narendra Pinto (Orthopedic). I consulted him December last year, and while its taken me a long time to review, I think its important I do so. The case was regarding my 80 year old mother who fell and I took the scan reports to get his opinion. I wanted his advice on whether it was mandatory to do an operation, or was there an alternate just to cure without an operation. His immediate advice was to proceed with the operation, and when I was not in favor of it (because my mother is very weak I was afraid she may not survive an operation), and I asked could there be another alternate, his behavior changed to being extremely rude and abrupt. This sudden change of attitude in my opinion could have been because I was not in agreement with his suggestion for an operation! For the management/directors/shareholders of this hospital, please kindly advice your doctors to treat patients with kindness and respect, and not impatience and arrogance! We are paying for their service, and not asking for charity! His attitude and behavior was despicable and while I can see he has this huge reputation, I cannot fathom who would consult with a doctor with such a bad attitude. I wanted to share this personal experience of mine, so it will hopefully not be repeated on other patients. Thank you

Not recommended at all. Really disappointed with their service. Also unnecessary charges. My husband contacted them before he go for his dental appointment to confirm the charges. First they told the total amount is Rs 4000 and then after they done the procedure they charged Rs 8000.

Worst health care services you could find in the heart of Colombo. My husband couldn't even keep his head straight cause of high fever which hasn't even lasted for 12hours. When we walked into the Emergency unit, Dr Saranga didn't even check him, gave us a prescription asking us to do an influenza antigent which took almost 1.5 hours to get the results. That also I had to make a scene to get the results. I'm sure if I hadn't gone asked for the results, id still be in the hospital waiting for the results, that's how efficient and caring the hospital is. We only got medicine right after two hours walking into the EU. If a man goes to this hospital in serious condition, they'll end up dead.

Poor Nursing and Caring
My Wife has admitted to the kings hospital on 28/05/2022 for Hernia Surgery and directed to the room no. 401 (UHID - KH/000102965).
After perform the surgery, doctor confirms that she will sent to room but more than 20 minutes patient not taken.when i inquired, doctor at the ward asked to bring patient but relevant lady refused it suddenly by saying, i just arrived bring patient. After sometime they take patient room.
Even after came, wife need to pass the urine but care giver or no one came even after several reminders and finally one came.
Regarding medicine/pain killers giving also terrible. I had reminded relevant sister that time has pass to give the medicine. Then they gave it. Next day morning, doctor advise to give suppository to wife and as usual, it also not issued on time.after i reminded "Master" in duty came and give suppository and asked me to insert (i'm no medical trained) and gone out.i was surprised and requested again to do that. Later one came and did it.
This hospital facilities are nice but nursing is very, very, very poor. Not recommending. If hospital Management refer or need to review this and improve, contact me

My review is in relation to the service I received from the rapid PCR testing centre at the Colombo airport.

I was asked by my airline to take a rapid test prior to departure and was told to proceed to the car park at the airport. I was travelling home to London via Dubai with transit only 45min.

On arrival the chap who claimed to be in charge of matters at Kings PCR centre became quite unhelpful, aggressive and told me that he knows all the Covid rules to enter the United Kingdom. He insisted that I need to get a 48hr full PCR which was frankly unhelpful as I have a flight to catch in 3hrs. He continued to show his aggressive behaviour at me and tried to make it difficult instead of full filling my (and airlines) request of providing me with a rapid PCR test. At this point my patients were lost and I did say if I missed my flight i would be claiming for compensation. He continued to instruct his colleagues that i should not be offered a rapid test and still adamant that he knew the rules to enter the UK (no you didn’t my friend and I doubt you still know!). The situation was not getting better and he was still trying to act smart and say he is in charge and he makes all the decision - utter joker.

After 10minutes of wasting everyones time another guy who was smarter, decided to take my payment but this so called guy in charge still adamant i shouldn’t be offered a rapid test. I decided to make matters clears to him and I asked him to stop his threatening and aggressive behaviour towards me and to offer a rapid test.

At this point one of his superiors turned up to resolve the matter within 5min and offer me the rapid test I asked for.

This clearly shows this guy in charge was utterly incompetent and useless. I wonder how they get to work in places like this and unfortunately it also impact your brand. People like this should be subject to rigorous customer training as the most important aspect should be to learn to interact with human beings and not treat them like an animal.

If I am in the same situation again I would go somewhere else but credit is due to the manager/superior who dealt with it very professionally.

Date - 30/11/2021 23.00hrs.

This is the first time I have admitted my brother for ANGIOGRAM. But I don't feel there is good service in this hospital with staff because we came from kandy to get our treatment and in cashier or reception no one giving us correct information about room vacant and other services. After I finish my advance payment one of the staff told me that there is no room available for patient and guardian and guardian has to sitted in lobby until morning so that time I was hate about this hospital services. After my argument there arrange me a room however. This is not good services when I compare with other hospitals. I hope in future management will consider about the staff's care and responsible services.

I am going to post about the worst experience that i went through right now at the “rapid PCR laboratories” by kings hospital at the katunayaka airport. I am flying to Dubai and i gave my sample for the test by 3.47am and see the time now at my screen shot below 6.30am still I didn’t receive my report or the message. Waited more than two hours up to now and they’re nicely enjoying they’re freedom and enjoying the seating.when i went and asked they said you will get a message when it’s ready but god knows when.highly disappointed about they’re unprofessional service and never recommend anyone for they’re poor service. It’s really sad situation. It never take this long for the rapid PCR in this earth.

07/11/21 I was the 1st to visit the doctor with my 2 kids. Session was to start 7.00am. And what i want to bring to king's hospitals management's notice is, the doctor comes at 7.00 but the person who is responsible for getting payments for vaccines comes even pass 8.00 am. Being the 1st patient having visited the ddoctor with 2 kids who can't even wear a face mask we had to wait till that billing officer comes pass 8. And this's the 2nd time i had to face this terrible situation.
What i want to ask your management is if the ddoctor starts the session @ 7.am, why do the patients have to wait till 8.am to pay for vaccines. U guys  purposely or carelessly keep the patients waiting in the premises along with babies during such a pandamic ongoing situation, risking their llives & wasting time, who come to you with a trust.
Pls dont do this.make this correct. Either apoint someone else till the responsible person comes or change the billing officer's duty starting time as 7.am, whatever.
Think about safty & lives of patients & babies who even cannot wear a face mask. Stop making them wait.pls correct this. Thank you.

I had an appointment at 3.30pm for an eco. Now it’s 5pm and still not done the eco. Why can’t the hospital + doctor provide a proper time? Also the process is really bad since you have no indication on when you can get things done.

Such a Horrible service kings radiology. The receptionists are irresponsible to let know patients their reports are ready even if they are not. I Do not reccomend this service.
