Surf Hotel Bentota

An average hotel at a nice location, the only positive about this hotel is that it is located on the beach. But for the room prices it charge, the facilities in the room and the support provided by the staff leaves much to desire. There is no minibar in the room, room service is non responsive and other basic necessities that we take for granted in a four star hotel is absent. Other than its beach front, the hotel doesn't deserve any rating other than an average.

Best part is the easy access to the beach and the lovely beach, food is decent, service sucks.some of the staff is rude.rooms are spacious but furniture needs upgrade, bathroom walls need painting.

We are just leaving this place. We are sad to go. The place has a great clean beach, lovely rooms and polite staff. The breakfast and dinner buffet has a wide selection is vegetarian food. (Including some Indian food, which is rare in Sri Lanka). The ocean is great to take a dip in and the pool (s) are perfect for people of all ages. If we are ever back in sri Lanka, we'll definitely be back

We have just returned from the surf, an excellent stay, the staff are lovely, rooms overlook the ocean, clean and spacious, the food is excellent, plenty of choice, very quiet and peaceful, left feeling fully relaxed, close to some excellent restaurants, pier 88, worth a visit. Visited Galle, Marisa, and Yala national park, will definitely return

Amazing location and access to the beach from the rooms. Rooms themselves are dated and weird. Ours did not have a lock on the bathroom and the bathroom didn't have a separation between the shower and the toilet. Hookah served was terrible and they charge to change coals

Fantastic hotel. All rooms are beach facing and on the beach. Choose ground floor rooms if you want access to the beach directly from your room and back. Nice staff. Some good restaurants opposite the hotel across the rail tracks (5 mins walk).

The best place to stay in bentota! A big lawn, pool (with attached kiddie pool) and direct access to the beach are just a few things to make a leisure trip perfect. Make sure to stay in the rooms that have direct access to the pool, its the best thing about this hotel. You can spend one day at least just lazying around in the hotel

Place is awesome.but service very slow. People looking for veg food wont like much of the menu available. But stay is good and location amazing.

Good place to visit and relax - but quality of food can be improved - has ample space to chill out -

Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach. Awesome location. Rooms are good and clean. Views are awesome. Food is OK. Overall a great hotel.

Perfect location but room maintenance is below expectation. Good choice of food and cordial staff. Weak WiFi often not available from rooms

Hotel is a bit tired and could do with an upgrade. It was hit by the tsunami but now needs more investment. Had to change room twice but staff friendly and helpful. Buffet ok, tended to get some large groups stopping over making it noisy.
