Moon River Sea Food Restaurant Cabana

Cozy family restaurant on the beach. The food was so tasty and fresh that I had to come back next day and sample more from the menu. There is also a secret menu: ask for a portion of sweet potato fries. They are the best I ever had. Grilled prawns are also available if you ask for them and they are delicios.

One of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Sri Lanka. They offer rooms to stay too, which is right on the beach front.

Came here three times and will come back more. For those staying in Eva Lanka it is a perfect nearby option for meal for a change.

Had sandwiches with prawns - so yummy, mixed seafood soup - the best I’ve ever tried anywhere on Sri Lanka - highly recommended! Also had prawns (peeled) in a special sauce - very good, goes with potato chips.

Prices are fair and moderate, service can be slow sometimes, but you have other things to entertain yourself while waiting;)

Place is right at the beach, you can go for a swim or surf, toilet also has shower.

All in all - best recommendations for lunch or dinner or just a snack while enjoing the beach.

One of the most beautiful little coves along the southern cost. You can surf and chill with few tourists.

It still has fishing boats as it has kept its authenticity.

The restaurant surely gets 5 stars, since the food is delicious and very fresh made (you might have to wait if it's busy). We haven't even eaten the seafood since we're vegetarian, but still the other options were very good!
We also stayed at a cabana, very basic but has what you need: bed and bathroom. Don't expect any luxuries (no mosquito nets, no curtains, not super clean), but if you're looking for a calm and beautiful place this is it.
Also ideal place to surf when you're a good surfer:) or you can take lessons when you're not yet a good surfer, like we did.

Right on the beach with a very calm sea. The food was tasty but took ages to come and we spent an equal amount of time eating and swatting away the flies. Overall would recommend for the idyllic setting.
