Coco Royal Beach Resort

Pathetic bar service. These guys dont value customers. They will serve you food in the dishes use to serve others without cleaning. If you ask, they will say its ok. Horrible, pathetic & unethical customer service. Avoid this hotel if you can. Not nice in other ways too.

Overrated. The place lacks amenities. WiFi in the room is not available. Pool is quite small for the number of rooms and space they have in the hotel. Bathrooms and rooms are huge and spacious. However, not enough accessories and decorations are made to fill the space. Stinky balcony and less cooperative staff. I don't quite recommend this place in Bentota.

The hotel is nice but they didnt serve the normal drinking water buisness should not exceed the limit that people get charged for their basics necessity beach is not at all cleaned go to pool instead

To start with, food was great both the breakfast and dinner in the resort. Rooms were average with old bathroom fittings and tiles. Bed linen also looks old, but pool was amazing and they had a private beach as well. I would have given 3 stars if they had wifi in the rooms. Such a shame in this era that a resort doesn’t have a wifi in the rooms.

The hotel staff did not handover one baggage which was left in the reception.there were only 2 groups of guests in the hotel but the staff did not even enquire to whom it pertains.very unethical.anybody booking there should be very careful.we have lost valuable items which was in the bag.

Hotel is a smaller one and has therefore a more personal atmosphere.
Food is of good quality but could sometimes have a bit more variety.
Some Chinaware cups should be replaced, since "signs of use are top obvious.
Well rooms would definitely need a "Facelift" in several aspects, but what had to work, works (or was repaired quickly)
But the friendliness of stuff was the real highlight.

You arrive in a foreign country with lot of expectations. And this place does most of them. Good location, good food, friendly staff, massive pool, the only flip side I say is rooms don't have internet connectivity in a way it's good as get to spend good amount of time with familia but if you want to access them head to lobby and pool area. Rooms are not that massive but serve the purpose.

Fantastic hotel located at the beach side. As we visited at the end of monsoon not really many opportunities for a swim as very strong currents. Hotel itself more then adequate with visible wear and tear but overall comfortable and and rooms kept very clean.
No mosquitos in rooms only communal areas (unavoidable) and that also wasn't too many.
The most outstanding staff ever. Starting with reception through housekeeping and waiting staff. Made us feel very welcome and were very attentive. Also friendly and always smiling.
Food selection great with many choices of local and international staff. Same with drinks and bar selection. We were on all inclusive basis and very happy with the service.
Pool adequate and clean. Enough loungers. Only issue floor in pool bar very slippery when wet.
There were few issues with room maintenance like leaking air conditioning and not working safe but those were addressed and sorted very promptly.
The only issues I would say was the WiFi only on main areas but that was said to be addressed soon. Also the upkeep of main reception/ lobby floor very dirty and glass doors to the restaurant/ bar could do with more frequent clean as guests were opening them not using the handles but pushing on the glass.

Forget about reviews i have paid i will get ambience cleanliness and service.
What i best thing i like one of their customer broke the vase and they genuinely asked for half of money.
This is best example of patience and such a good people.

A 3 Star and nothing more, very friendly staff but unfortunately expectation does not meet reality when you stay a Coco Royal. There’s plenty of staff on hand but a lot of them are hanging around doing nothing when tables need clearing & cleaned. The All inclusive package is poor & very limited, especially the bar. The hotel advertises for main meals that you can choose from the buffet restaurant or the a la carte eatery, what it doesn’t tell you is that you have to pay extra for a la carte if your all inclusive. The food was very much repetitive, either over spiced or too salty and constantly cold, flys occupied the salads and fresh bread.
Room service was daily but lacked in attention to detail, very often items wouldn’t be replaced and the floors weren’t mopped & cleaned in the 2 weeks we were there. Any used crockery left outside of the room would sit there for days.
Another false advertisement is the pool side bar (cafe plage) & Spa. Neither were open throughout our duration. Free wi-fi zones, ‘that’s the lobby only’ but be advertised if it’s busy you won’t be able to log on. Not once did we see badminton or volleyball or any organised sport, oh we did, the pool boys were playing ping pong and apparently there was a gym, but never shown where it was. You can expect themed nights and performances from live bands apparently. The bands must have been away on holiday during our vacation, however quite often we were treat to a monotone keyboard player who’s choice of songs leave a lot to be desired. If you don’t want to sit in the lobby and listen to the entertainment you can always retire to your room, as the volume is exceptionally loud, several times we had to ring reception asking to turn it down. As much as we enjoyed our holiday chillaxing, it was a very expensive holiday with little to offer and probably the only time we have returned home having lost weight and longing for a decent alcoholic drink.

I haven't stayed over. Organized a friend's wedding here and had issues because of the water in the parking lot due to the rain.
Had to park in the walkway next to the entrance so that the couple could leave without getting wet.
Food was ok. Not the best, but good enough. The staff was really helpful and friendly.
Overall, good place for a wedding.

The resort is a perfect relaxing getaway. The staff is extremely courteous and the rooms are very spacious.amenities are good and you will enjoy your stay there as i did.

14500 FB triple room. (After a 40% discount) the quality of the rooms can be improved with a bit of attention to detail. The lift carpet was not cleaned well. The buffet needs more variety. The meat items lacked taste. Could use some improvement. Not having bacon for breakfast was a bit of a let down but the rest was somewhat okay. Lunch served a decent variety. Dinner was upto standard. The dessert selection was exquisite. It's worth mentioning the service. The staff was friendly and quite efficient. All of them (with the excet of the security guard) were very polite. The buffet times need a bit looking into. The pool is not heated but offers a deep end of 1.5m with is somewhat okay. There is a variety of activities such as table tennis, water polo and volleyball which is to be expected. Overall pretty good. Will visit again. Hoping to see some improvements.
