Located in a really nice place, but the lake was empty during our stay, possibly due to the lack of rain. The place is clean, and the bedrooms are spacious. The pool is in a great location. And the owner was kind enough to give us the entire villa without extra charges even though we only booked 2 rooms.

The only issue I encountered was with the food. There was no full board option available, so we asked the chef to buy groceries for dinner and lunch, including fried rice, rice and curry (chicken and dry fish), deviled chicken, deviled pork, and 500g of sausages and a 1l ice cream. The cost of groceries for dinner and lunch was over 14,000, which I found a bit excessive. Additionally, we had to pay 6,000 for the chef's services (just for cooking) for dinner and lunch, and another 1,000 for cooking some snacks (fried sausages and a deviled chicken). We were only a group of four people, and the total amount we paid for food (dinner, lunch, and bites) was 21,000, which I believe is quite high. And I'm not so sure about the portion sizes of the bites either.

The place is breathtaking. Didn't expect such a view as it seemed it was located in the middle of nowhere. But once you step in it's on a whole another level.

Firstly the place, located with a view of Victoria reservoir and built with a modern architectural touch it is sure to take you by surprise. The pool is nice and clean and the rooms were upto a star hotel standard. Filled with a good collection of movies, books and games you'll definitely feel your stay is not enough to appreciate what they offer.

Food is very good. The chef Kevin was very friendly and accessible to many of our requests. If you go there make sure to ask for some fancy western meal as we felt that's where his real talent is. The service from the crew was exceptional and we felt well taken cared of. Can recommend to any one whos looking for any kind of get away.

Great location, 7 minutes drive to Victoria golf club and stunning views and a good sized pool. We hiked down to the reservoir which happened to be almost dry and had a rare glimpse of a lone elephant. Saw Horbills and heard owls etc. The staff have to be commended for the genuine care and attention to detail. Kevin, Milan, Amith, a cleaning lady and a gardener makes up this great team. The food was excellent with the grocery store conveniently located just a few minutes away by motorbike. Everything worked and we had a super, relaxing 3 night stay for 7 pax. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Glasshouse and do plan to visit again. Thank you Shirani for hosting us at your lovely holiday home.

Until you reach this place you wouldn't imagine such beautifully designed property could be found in such a stunning location. From the moment you step in there you're relaxed. Moreover there's a staff to see to your personal comfort throughout your stay. The chef can turnout some tantalizing dishes to your liking. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The view alround was breathtaking. In a nutshell anyone's choice for a most relaxing break.

Superb place. Stunning views upon the mountains and the Victoria lake from the house. Great set up with spacious balcony, infinity pool. Friendly, helpful and discreet staff. Great curries including some with home grown vegetables. Nice walks from the house. Walking distance from the Golf course. Great birdlife (orioles, peacocks, barbets, eagles, woodpeckers etc.). A memorable stay in a beautiful holiday home. Would definitely come back.

We were at Glasshouse Victoria from the 13th April 2023 to 16th April 2023. It was one of the best holidays we have had.
The location was simply breathtaking, surrounded by trees and overlooking a lake. The rooms being spacious is an understatement. They were massive, and so comfortable. Beautiful infinity pool which overlooks the lake.
Food - Arguably, you will not get better food than this anywhere else. Chef Kevin was excellent. A very decent human being, apart from being a great Chef, and eager to please his guests.
Service - Absolutely great. Amith was always around to look into every possible detail and assist us with everything. I had a back pain the last day, and he took the time call me the next day - after we arrived in Colombo to find out how I was doing. Such, is the attention to detail. Then there was another lady, whose name I do not know, who kept the place very clean and tidy.
All in all a fantastic holiday and we would go there again - hopefully soon!

Had an amazing time. Spacious living area with a spectacular view. It’s a good place to spend your time with your friends or family. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and tasty foods.
The villa has one big master bed room and three rooms. A nice pool which had no chlorine. A separate place to take your foods as a family. Had Board games to play. Very relaxing and Highly recommended.

I was one of a small party of golfers that left Colombo early Monday morning on an airconditioned carriage headed for Kandy. The fare cheap and carriage clean, the train is a great alternative to travelling by road. Our driver left 30 minutes earlier than our departure and met us at the Kandy station 3 hours later. We had a wonderful breakfast of coffee and freshly baked croissants at the Royal Bar and Hotel in Kandy then left soon after for The Glass House.
You enter Glass House through a massive wooden door that leads to a staircase. From the moment you reach the top few stairs, you are struck by the sheer beauty of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Glass House is an architectural tour de force designed to leave you breathless on entrance to the main living area. It is difficult to take in all the beauty as every angle provides its own masterpiece. Directly ahead, through the dramatic floor to ceiling frameless glass doors, you struggle to focus on any one feature. The infinity pool is directly ahead and, in the distance, the everchanging beauty of the Knuckles Mountain Range. The Range changes constantly with a mix of sunshine, early morning mist, low hanging cloud, sometimes soft drizzle, or a more substantial downpour. To either side, you find seclusion in a forest of trees, vines, and shrubs that add colour and texture whilst housing a huge array of wildlife. The Knuckles itself contains some 128 bird species.
Aside from golf, there are many walks around the reservoir, or for the adventurous, a longer trek through the village and up to the beautiful Bambaragala Temple and onto the cliff top viewpoint.

Onto our stay. Glass House is staffed by a professional team of four. The manager takes care of everything and set the standard of our visit. Amit provided a great service attending to our every need. The chef, Kevin, prepared fantastic fare with fresh ingredients we bought from Colombo and Digana. Our cleaner kept the spaces and surfaces immaculate and even cleaned our golfing gear after every round.
My room was downstairs, a private room with an outstanding garden view. The upstairs bedroom is the ‘piece de resistance’. With glass doors open and curtains drawn, you can see miles across the reservoir and keep track of every change across the Knuckles Mountain view.

Glass House is ‘the’ place to stay in Kandy / Digana. The people are lovely, service exceptional, and food fantastic. Thanks to everyone that helped make my stay extraordinary.

The Glasshouse is an amazing oasis of calm on the Victoria Dam. The unsealed road to get there has you wondering what to expect at the end.but it more than rewards with a beautifully architected villa, providing exclusive and sweeping views across the dam and knuckles ranges. It offers a peaceful and tranquil retreat whilst the stunning Victoria Golf Course (and I don't play golf!) is short a drive away. Milan leads the friendly team who quietly and attentively attended to all our needs. The alfresco dining was wonderful and catered to all our requests, and with the Chef Kevin having spent time in the gulf.churned out delicious Middle Eastern bites in addition to all the Sri Lankan staples.

Beautiful house, large open space with fantastic views from the infinity pool. Large rooms beautifully furnished and designed with an interesting selection of paintings by street artists. Chef Kevin is a five-star chef, as well as a general manager and complete staff. Unfortunately I was only there for two nights, next time I stay longer ️

Fabulous experience at the Glasshouse Villa. The adventurous road leads to a gem of a place, which is very well designed and comes with a stunning view.

The staff did everything to accommodate our needs, and the chef handled our dietary requests flawlessly, all the food tasted wonderful. The chef has several different menus to choose from, but is also very accommodating if you have different requests.

Important to know in these times that the villa has its own backup power generator, which comes in useful if there's another power cut. While it's a loud diesel generator and won't enable the ACs to work, at least you have light, a fan, and you can charge your electronics.

It's definitely a recommendation to stay at this villa, also if you are traveling with kids. Just be mindful of the steps ;)

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Glasshouse with friends. The house was incredibly spacious and lovely. We spent a lot of time socializing in the pool area overlooking the breathtaking hillside view. The staff was always there to help and serve our every need. Having the lovely Victoria Golf Club within walking distance was a real bonus. We went there for scenic walks and played a 9 hole round as well. We had lots of highlights, but the biggest one was chef Kevin. He clearly took pride in his work and it showed. After each meal, he came to our table welcoming our feedback and took orders for the next meal. His Western food presentation and taste was as good as one would find in any top class restaurant. He was also very creative, particularly given some of the limitations he faced with ingredients, particularly given the recent heavy rains which destroyed some of the home grown garden vegetables. For one breakfast, we ordered Eggs Benedict. Some of us didn't want the poached eggs too runny. He understood our individual preferences and got it right perfectly. English muffins were not available. Not a problem, he made his own. On another day, he made a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. For one of the dinners, he made a Barramundi dish that was out of this world. We would go there again and take some exotic recipe items for him to be creative with and to surprise us. Bravo to everyone at Glasshouse.

Spectacular view from the location. Great staff to service and the overall stay was wonderful. Food was tasty a was exceeding our expectations. The BBQ dinner was really good and the chef was flexible and prepared good food. Travelled with my 2kids and parents and they all enjoyed. Did a long walk and played cricket too. The road towards the place need to improve as small cars getting to the location would be a problem during the rainy season. Overall it was a really good experience and wonderful stay. Good luck GH.
