Hotel Tree of Life Nature Resort

This is a sprawling property covering a vast area, but with COVID and dwindling occupancy, most areas have been closed off. We were told a number of footpaths leading to different areas in the property were not being cleaned and maintained because the exercise simply didn’t make sense when no visitors to entertain.

My wife and I first booked a villa in the Ayu Wellness Village which is a part of the property. A few days before our stay, they called me and informed that since we will be the only guests staying at the Village, they’re going to upgrade us to a suite at the Bungalow. We accepted. The suite itself was quite spacious, with a big bathroom to match. When we went in, there were dead ants on the bed, and the staff cleaned it upon our request. Throughout the first day we got muddy water through the shower and taps intermittently.

The food was good, but nothing to write home about. The staff themselves were quite nice and friendly.

To get to the hotel, we took a train from Colombo to Kandy, and a PickMe tuk from there. It cost us 650 Rs for the PickMe journey from Kandy town.

I would’ve loved to visit this hotel back when everything was “normal. ”

Giving 4 star rating because everything in there is nice except service. Nice place to walk, cycling. Good looking rooms with every facility. BUT there service is dull. Not very much nice to guest. Didn't respond quickly. Forget to keep spoons, water. Disappointed!

The hospitality was high class. The rooms were fabulous. The food was delicious. It's paradise for nature lovers. Value for monday.highly recommend Hotel Tree Of Life to all.

Ordered few dishes for delivery at 6.30pm
Said it will reach at 8.30pm
They don't even call back for delays.
When we contacted for the 3rd time at 10 pm they said it will further delay 30 mins and lame excuses as the delivery vehicle had technical issues.

Great place for bird watchers. Food is above average. Property is excellent. You feel very close to nature during your visit to this place.

It's a good place if u are visiting Kandy. Foresty environment takes you to a different world. Friendly staff, was helpful.

Rooms need to be upgraded. I faced an issue with house keeping and maintenance of place. Very polite and good Staff. Food is very good.

Rooms were basic, food was ok there weren't a big selection on the buffet. Staff was good and helpful. Location was good but the road was bit bumpy.

Resort is located outside kandy town and is amid lush greenery.rooms are very well maintained and are very big.neat and spacious bathrooms.swimming pool too is very big. One of those resorts where the max depth is 7ft.nowhere else we see pools with than 5ft max depth.the food provided was very good even though the options for dinner was less (probably due to less num of people at the resort on that day). Breakfast had a good spread. We were provided with dosas and idiappams even though they were not part of the menu.

Great hospitality and incredible staff and management, they all truly make you feel VERY special and appreciated. My mom and I spend 2 weeks here and did Ayurveda - the program has a lot to offer and treatments are great. The jungle setting is very peaceful and although not a birdwatcher, we greatly enjoyed the variety of birds we watched during breakfast, lunch, and walks.
It is a little far out, but the perfect place to find peace, rejuvenated, and reset from a stressful life at home (Germany & US).

Nice Peaceful hotel surrounding greenery. Real environment resort. Good spa with good prices. Really enjoyed the stay. I have visited few times will come again.

This wonderful place is in Kandy Sri Lanka. Though the hotel is a 3 star one, the staff are with 5 star standard. They are so kind and very helpful during my 3 nights stay from 20th December 2019.

Apart from the helpful staff I love the place and trees around which gave the feeling of I am in middle of rain forest.

Wonderful location, very remote, much needed solitude! Staff is also very co operative, especially the kitchen section. Good food too!

Surprisingly there were no welcome drink served.

Food is delicious, not big variety.
Room's are bit old but you can get a New suit from their new wing.

There is a local rate on ayurwedic treatments.

Very nice hotel at the hill top and i will try to recommend others also. If i happen to come once again i will prefer the same hotel.
