Wales Park / Royal Palace Park reviews
39 If you like this sort of thing, you'd give it 5 stars I'm sure. The dance and drumming were very, very precise. Very colourful traditional costumes.
Worth a look even if it's not your thing.
Beautiful, calm environment.nice place. Lot of trees and flowers were there. Not so big but lovely and beautiful place.
The Royal Palace Park, also known as Wales Park, Wace Park or Rajawasala Park, is a small park on top a small hill in the heart of the city of Kandy, that overlooks Kandy Lake and most of the city. Established by King Sri Vikrama Rajasinha of Sri Lanka it was renamed as Wales Park in honor of the Prince of Wales by the British.
This park needs to be renamed to Kissing Couples Park. Entrance ticket 100RS for foreigners and 30RS for locals.
The Royal Palace Park in Wales Park seems to be in a state of disrepair today.
Facing the Temple of the Tooth, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the early morning and late afternoon sun.
But young children and parents in particular should avoid going to the gym together. The shameless behavior of loving couples will not look good on your child.
Nice place to hang out! Beautiful views and grounds. I especially enjoyed the wonderful cool breeze on a hot afternoon!
It’s… nice? Tiny garden with obscure artefacts of a british park.
The kissing grounds for the local young couples.
The Wales Park, also known as Royal Palace Park, Rajawasala Park or Wace Park, is a small park situated on top of a small hill in the center of the Kandy city. It stands overlooking the Kandy Lake and was established by King Sri Wikrama Rajasingha. The park was later renamed by the British as Wales Park to honor the Prince of Wales. The park displays a Japanese field gun which was captured by the British army during World War II and given to the city of Kandy.
This is a park located within Kandy city area. The place is very popular among young couples so mostly crowded. This is good for someone looking for relaxing place within walking distance from Kandy butbthe size and horticultural importance is lower compared to Peradeniya Garden.
Its a wonderful place.relax and very suitable for young couples. There are no shop to buy foods or drinks. So its better to get foods from outside.
Rs. 30/- entrance ticket sold for Rs. 100/-
worth for nothing. Packed with couples, no scenery, badly maintained place.
Not recommending for anyone other than a couple who wish to spend their time without any cost with zero privacy.
Excellent place to visit with your girlfriend.but i must say one mentally upset rude parson some time disturb your feeling.so blam him and never give up
Nice place in the middle of the town. Mostly it’s a love park for couples. Not suitable for families.
Good place for lovers to talk freely. Nice cool place in the center of kandy city. But management is not good.
For that perfect fun time along with your family and friends Wales Park is the best option for you while you are visiting Sri Lanka. For your bucket list this is another best places to visit in Sri Lanka. Situated at the top of a small hill this park overlooks the Kandy Lake, this park is known for its majestic view. This park is also known as The Royal Palace Park.
Meant only for couples! You'll have to choose a limited place to sit and relax if you are with friends and/or family. You'll be shocked at the way the couples use this place.
Best place for couples, everyone minds their own business. Very calming place even though its in the middle of the Kandy city.
And also couple must be mindful about their behavior, because you might be sent out of park. Sometimes Monkeys might come but not much.
Altogether I love this place
Just don't go there if you're a decent person because you won't stay there at least for 5 minutes And never bring your kids. Garden is well managed, clean, calm and beautiful.
Very good place to couples. Not for kids and family. 18+ couples are allowed. Ticket price is fine (LKR. 30) no guards to disturb if you want.you can do whatever you want no body watching you.
