Thalaimannar Islands View Point reviews
6India is 32 miles away apparently! And the sea only gets up to 3 meters deep along this stretch! There’s a naval officer here though to make sure no one’s sneaking across
A calm place. Vehicles can be parked nearby free of charge. Road condition is poor. You have to be very careful when driving low body vehicles.
Nice place to visit little difficult to find the place but there is a small sing board to find the place
A very scenic place. A place of historical value, the sun shines strongly throughout most of the year. The Dhanushkodi beach of India is only a few kilometers away from this place. There is a beautiful natural beach. Be careful as the road system for vehicles is in a dilapidated condition.
This is the western most point of Sri Lanka. During low tide you can walk along the coast up to the 1st island of the Adam's bridge/ Rama Sethu. But the land connection is severed by a canal at the edge. This place has some of the most beautiful sea views in Sri Lanka.
Can see a part of Adams bridge during low tide from this view point. maps will show the route. Look for a sign board that says "View Point". You can park the vehicle there and walk towards the beach. There is a Navy watch hut here.
If the tide is low you may be able to walk along the coast to reach the 1st Island. Visited in the evening and the tide was high. Got instructions from the Navy officer and took a different route to reach the 1st Island.
