Clay Hut Village

Stayed here for 4 nights and the service was superb! Lahiru, his mom & Tharindu made us feel very welcome and homely! The rooms and the bathrooms were clean, ample space in the garden to walk around and relax, calm, safe and quiet surroundings where occasionally you will come across deers walking about in the garden.

It’s situated within walking distance to main sites (5mins walk). Bicycles can be rented from a nearby place to do your sightseeing.

We will definitely be staying here again, whenever we visit Polonnaruwa.

My rating for this places is 100/10. I spent three nights here along with two other friends and we had a pleasant and peaceful stay. Absolutely love the location and its calming surroundings. The place is well maintained with clean rooms and bathrooms. The food is delicious.

Lahiru, Tharindu and aunty goes the extra mile to ensure that the guests are comfortable and they are very attentive. They were so supportive throughout our stay and their amazing hospitality made our trip even more delightful.

Clay Hut Village offers great value for money and this will be my go-to place to stay if I ever visit Polonnaruwa again. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a wonderful holiday.

Clay hut is located in an oasis of peace, on a beautiful domain where many plants and animals can be seen. Monkeys also came to visit us.

Lahiru is a wonderful friendly man. He and his mom cooked us an incredibly delicious, varied lunch and dinner! We ate this with a great view of the domain.
Lahiru was so welcoming and open, words fail to describe his hospitality.

The rooms were provided with clean sheets and air conditioning was provided in all rooms.

Cooking workshops can also be followed here and bicycles can be borrowed.

Clay Hut Village in Polonnaruwa is a serene nature escape. Surrounded by greenery, the cozy huts blend tradition with comfort. The staff's helpful support and local knowledge enhanced my experience. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway in harmony with nature.

This is a wonderful place. Peaceful and relaxing environment, services also very good. Separate cabanas available. Rooms with AC and hotwater. Price reasonable.

A nice property to stay, very close to nature. Very rustic and amazing hospitality. They were very kind and helped us a lot. You can order food prior with them and get to have tasty authentic Sri Lankan food.

Natural Environment around the place. So close to “Natabun” good place to stay in night and cuisines are available as our wish!

Ideally placed near the entrances to the runins. This little eco-village is spacious and has a picturesque view out to a private pond with a restaurant. It's quiet during the day and is cooled by the many foliage around.

The rooms (we were in) were with double queen beds and annuities such as air-conditioning and heated shower was also available.

The food was kindly prepared for us by the proprietor family and was excellent traditional Sri Lankan food.

This is an amazing place to stay right in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, on the border of the archeological site, whether you are a nature buff or the ruins are what attracts you to this area. It's in serene surroundings, set in a large compound with lots of greenery and a natural pond to top it off. The atmosphere is rustic and calm. The elevated dining area takes it all in, while the owner and his entire family do everything possible to make your stay homely and comfortable. They will provide you with all the local knowledge and contacts you need if you plan to venture out and explore the many attractions close by.

The delicious food, cooked with authentic local ingredients, in the traditional style adds to the whole experience.

Actually not a good place. They didn't provide us dinner and bathroom is a message. Water is not going through drain. Not a clean place. But the environment is nice.
