Jays Holiday Resort

Had a peaceful weekend at Jay's. Loved the surrounding, which was calm and relaxing. Request for a night at the farm house. It's a few minutes drive form the main hotel. Spacious 2 bedroom chalet type place in the middle of a small plantation, surrounded by the jungle. Perfect for a rustic wild experience. We had a perfect night star gazing all the way until the sunrise.

The food at the hotel is simple and tasty. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable.

Will always go back!

I really recommend Jay's place. Not only the staff and the owner are attentive and friendly, but the site is stunning! Big swimming pool on site, trees and flowers everywhere, clean and spacious room.

We had a wonderful time at Jays with our french group of bikers. Rooms are spacious and confortable, and the garden so beautiful. The team is really caring and Jays is the best host in the area. He can arrange village tour, safari or massage. Trust him, he's the best and have a lot of experience! Wonderful barbecue dinner. Thanks a lot!

Pace for unforgettable memories

Had an unforgettable time at Jay's. A great place to get authentic Sri Lankan food. Staff and management are very friendly. It is located in an area with large trees on the edge of the forest. Can recommend to someone who wants to relax.

A true Sri Lankan experience. Delightful resort set in an almost botanical garden with a wide range of trees and plants. Secluded rooms which are clean & comfortable. Tasty and truly affordable meals, served simply, fresh and with a smile - what else do you need?

Exceptional vacation! Lovely staff, Jay and his team will go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.
Really great food, the breakfasts are very hearty as the evening meals, very varied.
The swimming pool and the setting are heavenly, it is a world apart, from which we no longer want to leave, with the monkeys, the exceptional fauna.

Very personalised service. Ideal place to stay for a couple of days if you are visiting Minneriya or Kaudulla.

We stayed two nights at Jays, mainly to swim after going up Sigiriya and Pidurangala but also to do a safari in Kaudulla.

Located a bit further than some other accomodations, Jays is very quiet and full of nature. Big trees, monkeys, you feel in the jungle. The rooms were very clean, AC worked great, so did the shower.

We ate one night in the city (you can check my review of Sundown at Lakeside) and one night at Jays. The menu was very reasonable in price, the ghee rice was excellent, and so were the hoppers. Very friendly staff and the owner makes you feel at home, very welcoming and goes above and beyond for his clients. The breakfast is very generous in portions and very good.

They organized our safari tour and their price was the best we’ve got! Their jeep is a little old but sturdy and still confortable. They can also arrange trips to Sigiriya or Anuradhapura.

Only negative, wifi doesn’t reach the rooms

A very nice place, and what a such nice staff! Everybody is kind and attentive and considerate! The room are simple, but the bed/mattress is comfortable. Is just missing some power sockets in the rooms. It would be better if wifi was available in the room.

The staff and service are really exceptional, the food is a delight and the grounds are well maintained. I certainly recommend Jay's.

The staff was lovely, very helpful and welcoming, beautiful bush location, lovely pool. Floating on my back watching monkeys in the trees.bliss. The food was very good.and Jay I made your beetroot curry last night and our guests asked for the recipe too! So thank you once again for giving it to me. I would recommend this place to any travellers, great for those travelling with choldren too. The rooms were very large which was winderful as some of the places we stsyed in were very cramped.

Nice place to spend the day. Has a pool, comfortable rooms. Most importantly food is really good.

A magical place totally engulfed in Sri Lanka's beautiful trees and plants is one of the reasons that make what Jayantha and his team have done so well here. The pool is clean and cool and has comfortable sunbeds for relaxing. We stayed in a room tucked away at the back end of the resort which was lovely and quiet. The bathroom amenities are simple and what you'd expect being on a self sufficient property tucked away in the jungle. The bed was large and comfortable and the room very clean. Would highly recommend to couples looking for a romantic get away who love nature.
Special thanks to Waruna for all the friendly chats and the impromtu Sri Lankan cuisine cooking class and Dammika for driving us around and of course that amazing offroading safari experience.
