This was known in the past as Gajarajagala and the current name of Kok Duwa is a name given to someone who came to mind.
This island is located in the Parakrama Samudraya Reservoir and relatively high bird density is visible.
What a beautiful island. Saw three elephants swimming across the Sea Of Parakrama samudraya. Once in a life time experience. But if you plan to get in to the island, have to make sure that there are no elephants in the island.
Great place to encounter relatively high bird diversity in addition to elephants (may also see them swimming to and from the islands!)
There is a old tunnel in the middle of the island used by ancient kings
