Lake Cabin

Unique experience in the middle of nature.
Sanka was a brilliant host, gave us lots of tips about the local area, and made an incredible breakfast for us - Banana pancakes were out of this world (photo attached).
We arrived in the dark and loved the view we woke up to. Having breakfast watching different monkeys and birds in their natural environments. What's not to like!
The place is easy to find but it is down a dirt track with some wild dogs. The room has air con, he warned us of mosquitoes and a net is provided but we didn't have any issues. I'd recommend earplugs as it is really in nature.

This was one of our favourite places in Sri Lanka. The rooms are simple but have all you need. You are close to nature. I even saw an elephant directly in front of me at night.
And the food was amazing!

This place deserves more than 5 stars. The location is THE BEST you could ever imagine. Right at the edge of a national park with view onto a lake you see lots of monkeys, mongooses and with a bit of luck elephants roaming around, sometimes they come very close and are just 2 meters away. No worries there is security fence as you know it from national park areas inbetween. The cabins, very exclusively as there are only 2 available, are perfectly equipped, spotless clean, airtight - so no bugs will bother you and come with very good working air-conditioning. You have a nice cozy seating area/porch attached to watch the animals while you are enjoying meals or icecold drinks.
The host Sanka is THE BEST host you could ever imagine, very warm welcoming and always smiling. He is always available, happy to serve you his delicious food and icecold drinks to your room, everything for very reasonable prices. He helps to arrange safaris for you, provides amazing advise on sightseeing, loves to exchange experiences with his guests. He is such a lovely person, himself still very excited about the wildlife, it was hard to leave this place. Ensure to reserve ahead as this place with only 2 cabins is of course very popular. Thank you, Sanka for the best time we had on Sri Lanka.

A real wildlife experience so near to the town. Cabins are situated next to the lake and it’s peaceful and serene!
Service from the owner Sanka is exceptional! He is keeping the place true to its nature.
P.s. This might be unrelated but the water pressure in the shower is awesome!

Good place for an overnight stay. Small but comfortable room. Great view of the lake from the balcony. Very attentive and comfortable owner. The most awesome host of the whole trip. Excellent breakfast. I recommend!

Sanka's 2 cabanas are simple and romantic overlooking a green lake oasis.you will be served wonderfully by sanka, the breakfast is very delicious!
