Thidas Arana Restaurant

Poor Customer service. Chalets are uncleaned and not maintained well. Do not reserve these days becoz they are renovate the hotel and not functioning the restaurant also. But when you call the hotel for reservation they do not communicate the situation. When you arrived to the hotel, they will communicate, restaurant is not functioning and refer outside places for meals. They never communicate that kind of situation in the room reservation. Chalets have not cleaned within few months. Really bad experience and not recommend for any room reservations.

Nice and quiet environment, we had the lunch. Food is really good, very friendly service, have clean wash rooms.

Tasty foods. Well managed and clean restaurent which you find on your way to Polonnaruwa ancient city from Habarana.

This hotel did not meet our expectations at all. The lobby and restaurant are always empty. There was never anybody available for any request, not even to give you a towel at the (dirty) pool. The cleanliness is horrible, both in the room and in general. We had tons of bugs in the room, including lizards that pooped on us while sleeping. Noises at night as well. We left a night early because we were unhappy and not enjoying our holiday stay there. After telling this to the hotel manager, he was only worried about charging us the whole 3 nights (we paid them), and when we finally left, he even chased us up the street because they forgot to charge us the last breakfast (shouting the price while chasing us up the street). Terrible. Not recommended at all.

Lovely establishment with great Sri Lankan food. The buffet is quite reasonable with a good variety of local options. Very friendly staff as well.

Very poor! Very expencive food for locals. And no any set menu, we have to buy dishes separately ana each one is very expencive.

Very good place to dine in. Spacious clean place. With bufffe. Popular among the tourist as well.

Went there for a lunch on the way to pasikudha. Slow service. Food is good but price is little high.

One of best restaurant in polonnaruwa.they have a buffet only for lunch and for dinner there is a ala-cart menu and also a good bar and swimming pool.

Restaurant is not a restaurant but a stop for tourist buses. They flow by dozens

Restaurant au bord de route, qui donne droit aux chauffeurs à un free meal ce qui est une pratique monnaie courante. Rien de dingue c'est correct.

This is a good place to stay if you are travelling to Polonnaruwa to see the ancient city, good facility, good food and excellent service from the staff.

Stayed there 2 nights, very neat and clean place. The chalets are very spacious with high ceilings, have good beds and a bathroom I would like at my home, with a good shower with pressure and hot water, which is a rare thing in Sri Lanka. Nice green environment all around and a nice pool. Yes you might find a few bugs and a lizard but that comes with the green. The staff is very friendly and the service is just superb, they go beyond to please you, very friendly manager too. The only reason I did not have 5 stars was because I was disappointed with the food that was served in the evening from the menu. Tried a steak which was tasteful give them that but very though, but that's the thing with most beef in Sri Lanka. Also tried spaghetti, this I didn't like at all, way to much of a bad tasting sauce. It's a shame because the breakfast was good and the buffet for lunch was just amazing. So I know they can do it better.

This is a convenient location to see Polonnaruwa and its ancient ruins. Very comfortable, modern and relatively new chalets by a paddy field gives you the feel of living in the village. Rooms are larger than average and has contemporary architecture worth mentioning. No complaints about the food and service, though there is room for improvement. The last upstair chalet in particular is very private. The pool is kept well but you may get bitten by very tiny bugs from the paddy fields, who will join you in the evening for a swim.

Firstly, the ambience at Tides Arena is nice. It has got a good swimming pool in one corner. The landscaped garden is a treat to the eyes. The four chalets are located at the back of the land next to a rice (paddy) field. Each consists of two well furnished rooms - one on each floor. The restaurant is at the front just behind the open car park. Parking is generally adequate. Restaurant serves good food.

The Hotelrooms are beautiful, a large bathroom with shower. The Pool looks reallynice, but the water wasn't clear, more milky, so we didn't swim. You can have Western or Sri Lanken Breakfast. At noon they have a buffet, where you can eat as much as you want, but you can order as well from the menue card. They have a big Restaurant place, for tourist groups who are coming to lunch time. The food is good, but not special. At Dinner time it is quiet, there moastly only hotel guests at the restaurant. They also have a small Bar with the basic cocktails.
