Tishan Holiday Resort

As a base for our cultural visits to Polonnaruwa we chose the Tishan Holyday, a beautiful location on the immediate outskirts of the city. It is a structure surrounded by nature, with a beautiful garden overlooking the rice fields. A very quiet place with a wonderful swimming pool in the center to relax. Good breakfast but terrible dinner, unfortunately I have to say it was the worst we had during our tour in Sri Lanka. Our room was sufficiently spacious but strangely there was no wardrobe to store clothes in, there wasn't even a coat hanger. The shower was with semi-cold water, the availability of towels was reduced to one each, when normally there should be at least 2 each for each guest. I advise you to point this out immediately and ask for others. If you are traveling with a driver, please note that the property will not offer you a room to stay overnight. I consider this a very serious shortcoming. If you don't notice these defects, choose the Tishan because it undoubtedly has a good quality-price ratio.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived on our bikes! Best stay in Sri Lanka, very friendly and helpful owner! The swimmingpool is very beautiful, relaxed and clean. You should defenitely order the curry!

Excellent stay with Tishan Holiday Resort. The room was nice quality for the price and the hotel grounds have a beautiful garden and great pool. I really appreciate the responsiveness of the manager, who helped me book multiple transportation journeys and a safari

This hotel was booked by our travel agent "Lanka Tour Experts". We entered the hotel at around 5 pm.and were received well with welcome drinks. The son of the owner was very cordial and gave us a personal tour to the room. The room and the toilet were neat and clean, attached was a nice balcony overlooking green and lush corners with a blue swimming pool.

Unfortunately, it was raining heavy and we couldn't explore the space to its potential, especially, we were sad for not being able to utilize the pool, hammock, and other seating arrangements.

The dining area is also nice and we enjoyed it to watch the pouring outside. It also offers a carom board.

The wifi and the ac were functional, which are "always a must" for us in any resort.

We opted for Srilankan breakfast and loved the daal and sambole with hoppers. They also accommodated our request to prepare string hoppers instead of rice.

Two things the owners should consider: 1
Adding water bottles in the room as basic service 2. Exhaust in the bathroom to keep it dry and smell-free.

Overall, it was a comfortable stay for us considering one night stay.

Everything was great, the managers are very friendly and available.
The rooms are great as well as the swimming pool!
The prices are also very affordable.

The service is exceptional. The owner and his sons are always available if you need something and they and their personnel are always smiling. Decent food. Beautiful garden with view on the rice paddies. Nice swimming pool. Location only 10minutes Tuktuk away from the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. I would definitely stay here again!

I put 5 stars because honestly the service is exceptionally kind. They are helpful. Smiling. And very caring for their guests. We eat well; the rooms are air-conditioned. The room is very good (TV / air conditioning / fans.) It's clean. The swimming pool is great and relaxing. We played Indian billiards with the team and our Tuktuk Chami driver.it was magic bravo

It is a (kindhearted) family managed hotel by father, mother and sons. We were warmly welcomed and absolutely treaded well! Having informed Tishan and Thanula only 15min before arrival they managed to beautifully decorate our room because of our anniversary that day. The hotel facilitates clean rooms, a beauful garden and swimming pool. We are really spoiled having had the pleasure of meeting this family and to enjoy their warm hospitality.
It deserves a high recommendation!

Hotel staff is not friendly and don’t respect privacy of the guests. Very bad hotel. Not recommended

Very bad and rude receptionist was there. He doesn't know anything about hospitality and costumer service. Even doesn't know how to speak to a customer. Not recommended at all.

The resort was very nice. Everything is very clean and the pool just gorgeous. The host was very friendly and could fulfill our every wish. I can really recommend it. We were very satisfied.gladly we come again.

Beautiful property in a lush garden, very well maintained with a good pool. It's family run and everyone's extremely helpful and kind. The room was spacious and clean (we stayed in the deluxe pool view). Breakfast was a huge and delicious feast, as was dinner! 10/10 highly recommend to stay here!

Fantastic location with greenish surrounding and the sunset was amaizing. Friendly staff and their service is great. Clean bed rooms made our day tireless. There was delicious food and so tasty. Clean swimming pool and its experience was mind blowing.
