Poseidon Diving Centre Trincomalee

We spontaneously decided to get a diving license.
The entire team is excellently coordinated and has outstanding competence. As complete beginners, we were treated with a lot of patience. This, combined with the constant feeling that the instructors had everything completely under control, led to a constant relaxed atmosphere (especially underwater), which is why we never even started to panic. We had excellent food and even a transport service was one of the many included extras. These points coupled with a fair pricing policy actually makes this diving debt a no-brainer for everyone. Oh and the manager Sam even speaks a lot of German by the way, our instructor was Dayan, but as far as I can see you can't go wrong with anyone

Passed my open water diver exam with Poseidon school today!

What a wonderful centre to get the most comprehensive learning and fun dive experience even for completely new divers! Sam is very helpful with arranging the whole course and all the information was delivered clearly. Really appreciate the help and kindness.

Dayan was my instructor, he is very professional in coaching and also a sophisticated diver. He knows perfectly well the dive sites and showed us some best spots to appreciate the beauty of the marine life. Instructions are always clear and we always get briefing before getting into the water. I did my confined water diving and 4 open water diving with him. When underwater, I felt very safe and comfortable as a beginner diver alongside Dayan.

During breaks the crew provided crackers and fresh water, so we can enjoy the experience in the best conditions.

What a great time spent in Sri Lanka, will definitely recommend.

During our stay in Sri Lanka, my partner and I spontaneously decided to get a diving license, which worked out very well at the Poseidon Diving Center in Nilaveli. Even when we had to postpone the course for two days due to a cold, this was possible without any problems.
The Poseidon team is really well-coordinated and everyone is very friendly and considerate, which is worth its weight in gold, especially as a beginner diver! We were able to enjoy our diving lessons with Dayan, who showed us some "hidden gems" underwater. (Dayan was also extremely excited when we took our GoPro with us & recorded some great videos of and for us - Thanks a lot!)

A big thanks to Poseidon Team; Sam, Lala, Guru, Aly, Dayan, John, Mike, Don () and Praveen for making my two weeks of diving in Sri Lanka an unforgettable experience. Doing my Rescue diver course with Lala was fun learning. After completing RD I continued diving with Guru and have seen all the beautiful dive sites in and around Trincomalee. The team is professional and caring making sure you have an unique experience every time.

An unforgettable experience! It was my first time diving and I was a little nervous, but thanks to the guides, they made me feel super safe and comfortable in and out of the sea. Poseidon organized a trip to see whales and Delphines in Trincomalee. It was really great and we saw many delphines and 3 whales. We really liked Sam’s (organizer) attitude. He takes care about the animals and he doesnt want to disturb natural animals environment.

Thanks to all the lovely team of Poseidon for its professionnalism and its kindness. All the staff shares with you its passion for ocean ans wildlife. Price are also lover than other diving centers.

An honest owner, he informed us in advance that the visibility was poor and offered us the possibility of choosing to suspend the dive if the visibility was such that it would not allow for a good dive. Despite the conditions, the guide still allowed us to see many varieties of fish that inhabit the coral reef. It's a shame not to have fully exploited the potential of the place, in conditions of good visibility it must be truly wonderful!

Sam and the rest of the Poseidon dive crew were fantastic from start to finish. My friend and I originally enquired about snorkeling on Pidgen Island but after a quick chat with Sam we soon changed our minds to go diving there instead. Sam organised it so we shared a boat with another group from Poseidon to make the Pidgen Island tickets a bit cheaper. My friend was doing the DSD as she doesn't have the open water certification where I was doing x2 fun dives as I do. It was organised that we were able to do one dive together, then go snorkeling, then I went off to do my second dive in a different part of the island whilst my friend carried on snorkeling. The dive master was really great in showing my friend the skills needed and helped with any mask/weights issues etc before we made the dive. We saw so many types of fish's, sharks, turtle, cuttlefish, lobster, blue spotted sting ray. I saw a greater variety of sea life here in one dive than I did doing 9 dives in Koh Tao. Nothing was pushed onto us when figuring out what our options were and the day was all handled professionally, safe and fun! Overall a really great experience and highly recommend!

I just completed my open water PADI ticket with Ravi as my instructor. He was very patient, explained everything very well. We went to some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Would definitely recommend many friends to go here for their ticket

Awesome people to go diving with! Very professional instructors and great knowledge of the local dive sites. Some of the other companies in the area might have bigger dive shops, brighter coloured boats and more advertising, but these guys run a slick operation out on the water. Super friendly and helpful. Praveen is a legend. Highly recommend!

Amazing dive center. My girlfriend completed her OWD here and I went for 12 fun dives. The dive sites in this area are really nice and Sam tried to show us a new one every day. We felt very safe and had a lot of fun with the poseidon team. Hope to see you guys soon.

My diving and snorkeling trip with Poseidon was amazing. The crew is super helpful, you really feel welcome and safe. The dive masters are very calm and show you around under water, it was my first scuba dive and I really learned a lot just in one dive. After the dive I could use my time on the Pidgeon Island to snorkel around and swim with reef sharks and loads of fish. I had an amazing time and they even helped me for my eveningplanning, very nice crew.

We felt in good hands at Poseidon. However, I can't give 5 stars because they told us that we could go in the protected/restricted area on Pidgeon Island where all the coral is dead. So therefore they seem to care little about the nature.

Please consider for yourself if its worth visiting Pidgeon Island. Its very nice, you can see sharks, turtles, eels, stingrays and many more. But all the coral is dead because of stupid tourism and the animals suffer (I saw one guide, not from Poseidon, poke a stingray so that it couldn't swim away).

We did our open water course here and it was amazing! The location in nilaveli is beautiful and they really know the best spots to go. But most importantly, the people were amazing! Spend 4 days diving with them and had the most fun with the team! They're great teachers and guides, it was lovely!

Great, friendly team and local climat. You can find around diving centers run by people from EU, but diving with Posejdon, you can feel you are in Sri Lanka not in Europe. And your money stays in local hands, which is very important for Sri Lanka in time of crisis.
I recommend this place with all my heart.

Nilaveli is the best beach on the entire east coast, friendly staff, detailed response to every enquiry.

We just wrapped up our second visit to Poseidon Dive Center in Trinco (Nilaveli Beach). What a great team! Excellent dive master (high five to Thilak) and good dive sites. They also let us spend one surface interval snorkeling with the Black Tip Reef Sharks and Green Sea Turtles on Pigeon Island.

I did my Advanced Course with Praveen in May and had a great time! He was very easy going and made sure that everything went safely and smoothly. Definitely recommend!

My first time to Trinco and first time ever diving. I was so freaked out at first, but Praveen took his time answering every question and explaining what to do in every scenario I came up with (there were a lot). The instructions, safety measures, and skill circuit was so thorough, that I felt like I already did the dive. My favourite thing about poseidon other than their expertise was how much they were concerned about the environment; telling us exactly what not to do and how we can play our part preserving the corals. The team was insanely nice and professional. Very calming tone of voice, and checking on me the entire time. I loved every bit of it. I'd honestly recommend Poseidon, and also Trinco just for the beach! I didn't get thrown about with waves! Just go here. Just go.
