On the Kantale Serunuwara road, turn left from Kallaru Junction on the road leading towards Dehiwatta, and there is a house of Buddha statues that you will find when you go to the right at the four-way junction. After about 4 minutes, pass the post office building on the south side and go a short distance on the road on the left hand side, stop and turn left, go a little distance again on the road on the right hand side and reach this place. This temple is located in Dehiwatta village belonging to 217 Dehiwatta Gramaseva Division of Serunuwara Divisional Secretariat Division of Trincomalee District.

This temple, which has the ruins of a very ancient Dagabak, definitely belongs to the Anuradhapura period. During the excavation of the Stupa mound here, the remains of another small dagabak inside and another dagabak built outside it were found. Thus, constructions belonging to 3 periods are found in this area. Thus, the original Dagaba, which was built during the Anuradhapura period, may have undergone renovations on several occasions. Around this stupa there is a mud court with a wall made of bricks and stone slabs. In 2016, many valuable artifacts were found during the excavation work here. Most of these are made of clay, and among them are two Bodhisattva figures, several Bhairava figures and parts belonging to koth karilas. Apart from this, bricks with various characters and symbols and some clay tablets with images of cows were also found.

Adjacent to the road leading to this place, there are ruins of a building with several stone slabs on the west side and a place covered with bricks. The Department of Archeology has now carried out excavations at this place, which has been designated as an archaeological monument. At present, this temple consists of newly constructed temple elements.
