East Surf Cabanas Arugam Bay

Until now, the best we have being during our time en Sri Lanka, you can really feel that this place is managed by a family Raffaella and Sidi are very kind, and they are very interested in everything that you need. They can arrange you surf lessons, delicious cooking classes, and they have an special jungle BBQ for dinner, going with Sudu as a jungle and Arugam bay expert.
We stayed one more night there just because we were having an amazing time.

What can we say – ESC is an absolute must stay if you visit Arugam Bay. A short stroll from the busy strip and close to the Main Point break, we spent 4 nights here and loved every minute. Rafealla and Sudu, who manage the Cabana’s are extremely generous and genuine people. The Cabanas are well looked after and with hammocks and a private outdoor shower. The tap water is drinkable - no more plastic bottles - and the room rate includes a delicious breakfast.

The highlight of our stay had to be the Jungle BBQ. Sudu and his childhood school mate drove us out into the jungle for a campfire dinner with four other guests. En route we saw elephants, peacocks, crocodiles and a myriad of exotic birds. Dinner - cooked over fire - was one of our favourite meals of the trip. Special shout-out to Sudu's prawn curry!

Good secluded but well run homestay. Off the main road and track. Vegan veg lovers. Italian lady manages well.
